    Default Change fort model into village model. How?

    I thought this could be done easily by just replacing the ne_fort model and texture with that of a village.

    I have tried playing in the settlements/ambient... folders, nothing worked.
    I have also tried with the models_strat folder, nothing worked there either.

    Nothing happens when i change anything here, fort still looks the same.


    What files am i to change so that i can make forts look like villages, wooden castles, etc?

    go to descr_cultures.txt

    search for northern_european entry, and in the bottom:

    Yea, it worked, but it has the fort wall around it.
    Can i remove this...

    Or will the game crash.
    Maybe i change it to a model that doesnt exist instead?

    Oh, and one more question.
    How can i change the name of them?
    Like, Instead of saying English fort, it says English Village?
    And is it possible to have different ones for each culture?

    Say English Village for a NE Fort, English Fishing Village for ME fort etc?
    Maybe in the extended.txt?

    Haha, sorry, i copied the wrong thing.

    That one i mean.

    Atm i have the Village model on the map instead of the fort one, but, it is surrounded by the fort wall model.

    So my new question is how i am to remove that wall. If it is just to remove that text, or link it to a nonexistant model. or if that will cause a crash.

    I have tried renaming that entry to something else, nothing happened.
    I have also tried to remove that entry, and nothing happened.

    I have also removed the fort .cas files. but they still load.
    I checked the logs but it didnt tell me where it found them.

    Aah, i was right all along.
    I though that the game might load it from its cache as it had loaded the models in earlier.
    Restarted and started from the beginning.
    Removing the whole entry caused a CTD.
    Removing the cas caused a CTD.
    And linking to a nonexistant cas gave me the desired result.

    Strange as the last two are basicly the same thing though. O.o

    Okay.



    There you have the regular city and port models.
    With one fort with Village model, and one with the ME Fortress model.
    It seems that the flag gets loaded with the Fortress model automaticly.

    I have no problem now, i said i fixed it in an Edit earlier.

    Earlier i had the problem that the forts walls were on the map, so the village would be surrounded by the forts walls. But i fixed it, just had to restart the game as those changes couldnt be made when it was running.
