Default Petition to Admins for a Separate "Faction Guides" Subforum

how many of you think that there should be a separate "Faction Guides" subforum (much like the AAR forum) in which everyone could post their guides (RTW guides under RTW, M2TW, under ", etc). This subforum would also have sub-subforums, each one for the different factions, in which people could post the approprate guide.
Of these facts there cannot be any shadow of doubt: for instance, that civil society was renovated in every part by Christian institutions; that in the strength of that renewal the human race was lifted up to better things-nay, that it was brought back from death to life, and to so excellent a life that nothing more perfect had been known before, or will come to be known in the ages that have yet to be. - Pope Leo XIII

Vote no. Should I tell you why? Cos all the faction guides go in the Scriptorium, where stuff like this go. Guides, 'how to's, etc. There's no need for one.

Perhaps they are copied into the Scriptorium?

Like Scutarii said, exposure. More people see it, and it gains more popularity.

Articles considered appropriate for storage in the Scriptorium are assessed and accepted in a given form. The authors can submit updates, but the original thread post can always be changed by the author without approval by the Librarians. I think most authors like this current arrangement.

Also, the thread posts are a part of discussion and debate. The passion as well as uneven quality of the posts is why i like to read and respond in the forums. The Scriptorium is a library for reference and good reading. I do not consider this a duplication.

You can find your way to the Scripptorium with the stickied Best Guides and Tutorials at the top of the page.

btw -- the usual caveats that these are my opinions and I am not speaking for the Scriptorium or TWC, etc.

The Scriptorium is looking for great articles. Don't be bashful, we can help with the formatting and punctuation. I am only a pm away to you becoming a published author within the best archive of articles around.

There are a lot of professinally made ones, like Forlonhop's guide (which is fanatastic!) on this forum, so even though there is the Scriptorium, then the existing guides elsewhere should be moved there.

Also, every sticky reduces the number of threads on page one. Falling to page two may very will mean not being read by many members and lurkers.

We have too great a tendency to reduce the thread exposure on the first page as it is.

If people write a guide, they use the word in the title. The search function can be your friend.

No, I don't see the need in making another sub-forum that five people post in a month. Battle planning fills that role pretty nicely and allows more discussion than just guides.

well someone could at least make a guides sticky inside Battle Planning... but i still think a separate sub-forum would be best for the sake of separating the factions out, making it easier for people to find the one they need.
