Ultimate mongol/timurid challenge?!

So we all know from experience or from hearing about it that the mongols and timurids are incredibly tough. Well I was thinking about running a campain where I will take the faction I choose and take and hold a small amount of provinces. So if I play portugal I will hold Iberia or if I play england hold britan. Then just turtle and defend my land and wait for the mongols then later timurids come and let them take all they can get until one or both reach me. Then see how long I am able to stand against them with my limited land, and forces. Does this sound like a challenge?

Not at all. First off, you'll probably have more trouble from Jihads than the Mongols of Timurids. Secondly, I've never in my life seen the mongols or Timurids reach farther than a bit past egypt, and a bit past constantinople. Maybe try playing as egypt or the roman empire, they're more challenging in my opinion.

Yeah they almost never go further than the boundaries of the Ottoman Empire. And if they do all their highly experienced units will be gone and you'll have to fight their weaker units.
Trying to hold them off as Turkey only holding Anatolia, now that's a challenge

I believe someones tried this against the Timurids. They allowed them to take over the whole of the map apart from the New World.

I have seen the Mongols get all the Far east when they settled in Kiev and conquer everything up to Vienna,Nuremburg,Stettin line. They had eliminated Poland and Russia and had Hungary as their vassals. Pretty impressive *gulp*, I was playing Spain at the time and had all of Western Europe.

Ah, but do you think you could get a force strong enough to defend against all those stacks attacking at once? I think you would be hard-pressed to even get to the Citadel.

lets take it step by step
you start in america - build a massive army and kill england , take their whole island - you're still neutral to the timurids
now from england build a massive fleet and like 20 stacks - money wont be a problem
land a stack with a cannon there and take the citadel
after every attack you get the depleted stack on a ship and back to england for retraining, and put a new one in the citadel
rinse and repeat until all armies are destroyed
