There's a story, either a fabricated legend or historical fact, that there was at least one female Pope. I think she was torn to pieces by an angry crowd when she started going into labour - rookie mistake. Can't remember the name.

Don't know, dressed up as a dude I suppose. Maybe she was a bit butch. The story goes that she had a lover.

Most historians say it's probably not true, anyhow - but then again Joan of Arc would seem a pretty unlikely character in those times. Maybe there really was a female Pope.

Err, no the Pope can't possibly be homosexual. Secretly female=/=homosexual. All priests you recruit have a chance of bearing that trait, so it's quite possible that a Pope will have it as well, as, after some point in the game all Popes, Cardinals, etc are drawn from the priests. There are rumours of a true female pope, so that might have been the reason for the trait's inclusion.

very simple,traits and retinues for AI starting family members and other characters which are not related to the family tree are generated randomly
