My Favorite Faction at the Moment is the English so i will be playing the British in Empire as my first faction.

I don't know, I think I will be playing as Prussia. But wouldn't it be interesting if you could convert your save from M2TW to Empires? this is a common feature in games by Paradox Interactive.

Yes. First game I will play in Empires will most likely be as France, unless the beauty of the main menu will take control over me and make me choose different.

Eh the closest is probably Russia since it was the spiritual successor as being the biggest nation of Orthodox.

Ottomans territorial wise, other than that Russia, and Moscow which was called "the third rome" after the fall of the Eastern Roman empire. Other Christian factions close to the Byzantine is probably the Venitians (they start out with a piece of the Greek peninsula according to the game map also). Or possibly the Habsburg/Austrians (the predecesors of the Holy Roman Empire).

The Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman Turks besieged and took Constantinople in 1453. So I guess you're out of luck in that regard... I wonder if there will be an Italian faction... I guess if there was you could create a sort of Roman Empire in Europe, then go on to conquer everything else.

Also, I highly doubt that there will be a way to convert saved games. There will be new boundaries, new factions, and at the very end, ETW will run on a new engine, so, yeah, I'd say that would be impossible. But frankly my first faction will be the Prussians.

Never mind the Unification of Italy happened around 1861, Maybe they will put the Kingdom of Sardinia in the game.

Never mind the Unification of Italy happened around 1861, Maybe they will put the Kingdom of Sardinia in the game.

Its confirmed that Venice, Papal States, and I think Kingdom of Naples are factions, maybe something else, im not sure.

Have you seen the differences between the many paradox games that allow save conversions? it is possible to play from 1000 ad or so until 1950 or so.

I'm probably going to play minor factions a lot in ETW.

The first thing I'm going to do is edit the text file after I get the game, to make all the factions playable. Then play as the Barbary States or somesuch.

I'll probably go Spain first and rush over to the New World. Having said that the Indian faction seems quite interesting, I can't imagine them being very good (but numerous) though.

I honestly don't have a favorite, maybe Prussia.

I'm hoping for a mod to bring medieval into the empire engine. The Napoleonic era will be fun but I'll be surprised if they manage to get enough variety out of the time to have the longevity of med2.
