I realise many of you will say "a bit of everything" but I just know that people have their preferences. Don't sit on the fence! What style gets your pulse racing?

I do love artillery, but I keep coming back to cavalry tactics. I love being able to quickly change the direction of attack, engaging in cavalry skirmishes, gunning down infantry with missile cavalry, or the immensely pleasurable charge home with some bad-ass poppin a lance in yo' ass.

I admit to being a general of men. Men on foot. Men on horseback. Not a navy man. (Air warfare is not here yet.) If i then have to choose it would be your phrase "Man-of-the-Line" or the foot solldier. The elite units are just that -- elite. Misiles and horse have their place, but they will not win a war, hold open supply lines, secure the land, or do the dirty work of the final assault on a defensive strong point to carry the day.

I rather like the use of missile units. I love to whip out large amounts of damage while taking minimal damage. The use of artillery is also much appreciated in my type of warfare. Although I do use a multifaceted attack and my armies are usually very well rounded with the intention of being able to fight any type of army.

Sometimes I would deploy a quicker army with the intended use of mass cavalry attacks on engaged infantry against my smaller amount of solid "medium" infantry. Works very well and I often sustain little losses. In general the use of these has worked very well.

While attacking a defensive strong points have their uses, I would much rather avoid such costly encounters. Probably because of viewing saving private ryan (opening scene-omaha beach) when I was merely 10 years of age. Not to surprising but that is probably the reason for my preference of leaning towards the use of missile warfare.

I love infantry battles, no fuzzy wuzzy cavalry charging, no larifari cavalry archers...

2 armies, a field, you meet in the middle...

I even bring Peasants to create some atmosphere with their corpses on the field, before I send in real soldiers

I would be the missile man (I dislike huge losses on my side that you get in an infantry slug-out fest), but more the gunpowder missile man... But I do love Serpentines (Artillery) though!
E:TW's natives have developed a new "Ballistic Automatic Detection And Seeking System" to utterly annihilate any European that sets foot on their soil... That's BADASS for short!

Artillery General. Oversee the battlefield from a distance and direct my batteries to inflict maximum casualties on my enemy. Also have a cool set of binoculars.

    Fun, isn't it?

Utterly cowardly of course... but when cowards have massive guns, they tend to live longer than the bravest, most gallant knight.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I just love the satisfying "boom" of a cannon.

Nothing more fun than lining up a full stack of elephant cavalry and firing on Scottish or Byzantine peasants. The carnage is... MAGNIFICENT

missile all the way, you can win anything with Retinue long bowmen, you can use them and maybe 3 units of Dismounted Feudal Knights and you can stop any siege coming, just put stakes at each gate, and fire from uptop down onto the enemies and use the knights against anyone climbing the walls.

Although I am a bit of both, I am much more of an infantry man than anything else. I love the brute force and the diversity in infantry units, also the versatility adds to the advantages. I love using Cavalry in flanking tactics or hit and run, of course, missiles in tactical positions can be deadly and artillery in siege is like god, but my armies are composed mainly of infantry, and I've always loved those big big battles of infantry vs infantry. Especially heavy. Yummy.

Missile cavalry is hilarious. I love using them in siege battles, attacking the enemy bunkering up in the plaza with missile cavalry can be very useful but I end up just getting them all killed, I dislike using them for too long, I just use them long enough for them to use up all their missiles.

Attacking the enemy with ranged units when they are all bunched up in the town square is actually a very good tactic. Even better if you have the patience to roll a ballista or catapult up into the city aswell.

I always do that, Conquist, especially with siege weapons, it's pretty funny to see their general explode.

It's even more fun to watch the stupid AI sit there and take hit after hit until they have 1/4 of their forces left, then move to attack you.

For some reason, my AI hardly does that, they only do that if they are very outnumbered.

I guess I prefer missiles. I always make my stacks have 3-4 heavy cav, 10 infantry, and 6 HA. The infantry is sometimes made up of troops that also throw missiles, so when the enemy charges me they're getting hit from the side by the HA and from the front by my infantry. BC has a lot of great units for this purpose. I'm playing as the Ottomans now, and the Janissary archer units, along with the crossbowmen and Frontiersmen, hold their own and inflict a lot of casualties.

I'm a cavalry man after a missile one, though.
