Default Mods that work with DLV

    Hi everyone,

I suggest to make a list about Mods that work with DLV (Don't forget to get permission from the modder). It will help us to discover Mods that we're probably missing. Mods that will make the almost perfect DLV even much better!

I will start with the only Mod i'm using with DLV (I told you it's perfect! ).

    Crimson Tide 4.2 (By Magus):

    Description: The bloodiest Mod.

    Any suggestions?

But do these mods overwrite core DLV files? or do they add?

Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

I'm kind of new to DLV (the great surprise ) so i didn't know about your strategy guide. It seems interesting, i'm planning to give it a look asap.

Regarding the DLV-compatible Mods, i think you have a nice list but found out that you didn't include Crimson Tide and that is the reason why i started this thread: to discover Mods that we're probably missing.

    @blackleaf
I'll talk about the only Mod i tried until now. Crimson Tide actually changes some files:
    descr_effect_impacts.txt
    descr_flaming_projectiles.txt
    descr_burning_men_effect.txt
    descr_geography_new.db
+ some files in data/battlefield, models_effects and overlaytextures

Obviously nothing serious, only graphic files. A simple backup and you'll be safe.

I used CT back when I played SS. It does look good. Let me know how it works out.

I only list ones that I'm sure work with 6.0 or above.

If this thread uncovers more, I will certainly add them. Of course, the problems with mods and DLV is that new versions come out so often. It's hard to keep track of what is compatible.

I could be mistaken but I thought that some elements of Crimson Tide were incorporated into an earlier version of DLV at some point.

Repman adds so much stuff it's hard to keep track of over dozens of versions.
