    Default Unit size settings?

Ok so I know how to change the unit sizes but dont know if I should. My computer isnt the best and battles run choppy for awhile when armies get larger. Thats mostly why I havent trie it yet. So what are your opinions on this and why do you have the setting set as you do? Also how much larger does each of the larger settings make the units?

Well I've played large battle sizes for a long while, and the spear Militia has 150 men, which is more realistic in my opinion. Not sure on medium, but I'd say for you stick to medium.

Yeah if gets a little choppy on Medium with big battles I wouldn't increase the size.

It may sound silly but I play on Large settings because I want the battles to feel smaller than my RTW battles which I play on Huge.

I will play Empire on Ultra though.

I much prefer the Normal unit size, not because my computer has a problem, but because I think the game controls are incapable of supporting the larger sizes. Moving a huge squad around in a city for example is a nightmare, and it also makes certain battles painfully long, such as times when you need to take walls defended by melee units and you have no siege equipment with wich to chase them down and have to duke it out with a siege tower.

I do agree that it would be fun to have bigger battles, although I think what needs to be done, is either greatly improve the AI and give every individual in a squad it's own pathfinding, or if not, then make the battle areas bigger and double/triple the amount of unit cards that are allowed in one army.

I actually prefer normal unit sizes because larger sizes make units hard to fit on walls. Stone walls are easier, but those small wooden ones which can only fit two rows of soldiers at a time can be quite bothersome.

Huge! Turn down those graphic options till it's playable. Once you get used to controling 2k units in a battle you'll never want to go back. I really like how the line of battle really develops, and reserve units seem to play more of a role as does unit depth.

This all being said, the problems with the AI are only magnified with larger unit sizes. Getting 200 knights up ladders is annoying, having stretches of wall that are simply too small for a unit to fit on and moving units on walls in general tries my nerves, however for me it's worth it
