    Default Crusades favourite infantry

What is your favourite infantry unit for the crusades?

Mine has to be the Eddessan Squires. 425 recruitment, 125 upkeep, 7 attack 14 defence + ap.

Probably a tie between Canons of the Holy Sepulcher and Greek Firethrowers. Both are ridiculously effective against most things in the game.

If cannons of the holy sepulcher were not a unique unit they would be my fave.

    On custom battles though ...

Yes, but besides the fact that they actually existed in the past, it is a complete fantasy unit. If they were actually that effective then the Byzantines would've never been defeated and we'd be still using those flamethrowers this day.

We did use them in WW1 and 2...

It would have been greek fire and the recipe has been lost for centuries. Nobody knows exactly whats in it. they squrited it out of hoses on ships but the land version is dumb wihtout a tank or anything.

And op? yourve heard of crossbows/cavalry/massed archer fire/gunpowder right?

they are sort of buggy and are very slow to get in postion and fire too.

*Sigh* Yes they were used later on, so what? Can't you read? All I'm saying is that CA couldn't have made MEDIEVAL flamethrowers more unrealistic than they did with kingdoms. First of all they were just plain lazy for not putting them in in the first place. Secondly, because they came with an expansion pack, they were made terribly overpowered to make the expansion pack look less worthless, honestly which 13 year old isn't drooling when he sees his overpowered unit shoot flames hundreds of yards at his opponet.
