Hello, instead of stalking the forums silently, I thought i'd post a solution.

After not playing MTW2 for awhile I re-installed it and boy oh boy did I have many crashes. I've been checking many forums for 2 days for potential solutions, went through all the motions, cleaning the case, cleaning the registry, checking drivers, rolled drivers all the way back to 84. series and so on.

But.

Today i've found the solution for me - the latest Nvidia drivers 182.06 have been very very stable for me now (several hours including big battles) so if you have been struggling recently, try them.

Sadly, because i've done so many tests I can't pin down an exact change that has helped but my gut instinct is the drivers as it wasn't related to heat etc (MTW2 ran fine a year ago and no hardware changes have been made) so if you've been struggling - try this and I hope it helps.
