    Default The Chicago Tea Party

'The government is promoting bad behavior... do we really want to subsidize the losers' mortgages... This is America! How many of you people want to pay for your neighbor's mortgage? President Obama are you listening? How about we all stop paying our mortgage! It's a moral hazard'
A reporter for a major financial TV station in the US (CNBC) goes ballistic on Obama's stimulus plan:

"If ye love wealth greater than liberty,
the tranquility of servitude greater than
the animating contest for freedom, go
home from us in peace. We seek not
your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch
down and lick the hand that feeds you,
and may posterity forget that ye were
    our countrymen."

    What an idiot.

Why doesn't he also target the billions that went missing with the first panic-invoked stimulus package? There's plenty larger fish to fry.

Heh, I like that. First time I've ever seen a reporter for any network or network derivative attack the multiplier. If it is over 1, , let's blow ten trillion.

Unfortunately I think alot of DC economists fell asleep during the monetary absorption and crowd effect discussions.
Sure I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is Im not. I honestly feel that America is the best country and all other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

Well, he's most likely ruined his career for a good cause. Good on him.

Thats all well and good but I have to ask what about all the CEOs that have received millions from the Bailout or the huge amounts of money that has basically disappeared without a paper trail. If you are going to blow the money you might as well give all homeowners a big fat check and not just those who are defaulting their mortgages.

It does condone bad behaviour but the little guy is closer to being destitute than GM, Chrysler, Fannie mae and Freddy mac. Of which GM is going business as usual as it released its gas guzzling Camaro into production and the Unions arent making any concessions.

I myself will never see a red cent of mortgage assistance because I have always responsibly paid on my house and its almost paid off.

Maybe if they pay these peoples houses off they should bar them from receiving credit again for 10 years.

But much of that is the Government's fault. It amazes me how much money is invested into the IRS per year for tax purposes but no one has the foresight to force conditions on these recipients of billions of dollars of bailouts, like say….to account for where this money is going in the first place?

    How screwed up is that?

    @OP

That was awesome. There are not allot of people that have the guts to be like that. Although, it was probably not a great career move to be so provocative.

    Take it easy,

    I agree with this guy.
The stimulus plan won't do anything.
