Default Templars as Monastic Order Problem

I am not sure I did this properly so I am checking. I wanted to make the Templar Faction a Monastic Order. I changed Princess to No and also Show Family tree to No. Question is how will it continue to survive. I am play testing it on turn 40 with six month turns. I started the faction with 7 original Templars as Characters. I know have four characters left and six cities, but I have yet to see an adoption offer or a new general as I did when I played the Teutonic Knights in the original game on that mini campaign with kingdoms. Any ideas on what I am missing to get new generals beyond playing captains to hopefully get man of the hour.

You get less generals, but you will have adoptions.

It won't be a problem, that's what I did with my templars too.

Yes that was a big issue for me too. But I got past it.

Edit: But is there a way to get more adoptions or is it just based on luck?

It is related to how many family members you have and how many regions you control. There is a ratio that the game like to achieve, just not exactly sure what it is.
