    Default Problem starting up.

    When I try to play it from the disk, it simply starts loading and never stops. Black screen...I have to turn off the computer.

    If I try to start it from the icon I get a 'Microsoft .NET Framework' box which says.....

    An unhanded exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will be shut down immediately.

    Error in the application.
    Of course, hitting 'continue' brings up a bare Medieval 2 Total War Launcher, and the same box keeps popping up. I just uploaded to Windows XP x64 SP2, yet same problem.

    (Under details....)
    See the end of this message for details on invoking
    just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
    To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
    application or machine (machine.config) must have the
    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
    The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>

    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
    rather than being handled by this dialog.

    Default Re: Problem starting up.

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...earch&aq=f&oq= is what I got when I googled this: microsoft.directx/1.0.2902.0__31bf3856ad364e35 straight off your JIT.

    The only thing it tells me you need to do more updating and that includes using Microsoft's Knowledge Base to help you get the64bit system to recognize the game.

    Original Medieval2 takes directx 9.0.c and .Net framework 2.0. You may have to install these manually because of the OS.
