    Default RTR crash to desktop

Hi, this is my first post, and I apologize if I am not in the right area.

I just installed rome total realism platinum version 1.9
I installed RTW, I installed patch 1.2, 1.3, and 1.5, and then I installed RTR platinum 1.9, and i also made sure it deleted the map file or whatever.

I can start the game, but as soon as i want to actually PLAY it, it crashes to desktop during the loading screen. I can't play the campaign, i can't play historical battles...nada.

    Please help! thanks.

So you have ran the campaign_map_reset.bat batch file which is located in your RTRPE folder?

I'm sorry that I never replied back to this, but I reinstalled RTR and it actually started working.

I have a new problem now though. I'm playing as Armenia and I'm in like 242 BC and whenever I end turn and Carthage is about to do it's business, i have CTD. Any ideas?

Have you installed the ctd fix yet? It solves a problem related to carthage. In any case, make backups of your saved games first so you don`t lose them if anything goes wrong.

If you have a folder called RTRPE inside your Rome Total War folder, you have the modswitch version.

Think of "modswitch" like an expansion pack
Its a totally seperate game that doesnt interfere with your original (Rome Total War)

If you have the other version, you wont be able to run Rome Total War (Vanilla - "Original") as your mod has replaced some of the original files. Trying to run the original game will simply start the modded version.
