This is my 1st Horde campaign and 2nd on BI, along with my Saxons one.
My startegy is to take places and sack them until we are depleted in number and have got to a strategic set of 3 settlements.
I then simultaneously occupy or enslave (but not exterminate!) the people here. I then recruit like mad and get the tax rate really low to increase pop. growth. I lose money very fast but it doesnt matter as I have a lot stored away from the sacking. By knocking down unnessecary buildings like amphitheatres, I can keep everything going for another few turns. I then take my armies out and put tax rate high to make my cities revolt. I get a lot of people for my horde units (3/4 stacks if I do everything right) and 2/3 professional armies which use heavy spearmen and great cavalry.
I then sack these settlements for a little extra profit and move on. By doing this I sacked Spain in 6 turns. By the time I have sacked everyone and thus got round to Tingi I make ships as some of my units and sail back to Spain where the whole process can begin again.
What do you think? Here are the pics of my campaign :
Classicus... Anyway, this is a professional army, and you can see the settlements I have sacked. Some revolted to the Romans or Roman rebels and otherwise many other hordes have taken these rebels with ease...
The man leading the enemy army has the trait of 'useless infantry commander'...
This is what 'La Grande Armée' looks like all in a line...
I call this one 'Riders of Rohan'... it speaks for itself...
