Every time i click over a georgian merchant or princess the game crashes. It may also happen when i click on a Gerogian Army. And the last time the game crashed it was because i found a Georgian spy in one of my cities.

hello guys! I got the same problem! I installed the oriinial game, patched it to 1.2, and then BC, patched it to 1.0.5 and it loads perfectly, just crashing when selecting any Georgian Unit. can you help me? what have i done wrong? btw I have Russian version of the game, but my friends had this version, and they launched BC without problems. what should i do? if I uninstall BC and apply 1.3 Patch for the original game, will it work?
Hi everyone;i have the same problem of Nur-al-Din.I've almost lost my patience with the georgians.I have read all the post regarding this problem in the BC forum.I have installed a fresh vanilla version of MTW2(Italian edition)European, then i've upgraded it to version 1.2 and then 1.3(all these patch are EU and compatible with my game version). Then i have installed BC 1.0 and finally the 1.05 version(i've used the NON-ENGLISH version installation). The game still crash when i'm trying selecting a georgian or (kypchan?) army or agent.I've read that the problem is with the sound. What shall i do?The mod is wonderful hope you will help me please.
This issue is related to the fact, that the different M2TW versions out there all have different sound files. It seems, that only the english version is complete and has all sounds. Now, the original mod was made for the english game version, and therefore uses references to sounds, that ONLY exist in the english game version.
I would suggest, that you wait for the release of BC 2.0 and see, if the issue still occurs.
I recently installed Broken Crescent and i faced similiar problem, every time i click on georgian army game crashes...
I checked other factions and there was none such problemI reinstalled it several times but it didn't help.
Any help will be appriciated

please install the bc 1.05 patch with the option for not-english language, then you won't experience crashes anymore
thankx guys
I solved the problem by installing 1.05 non-English patch
Cheers![]()

It's me again....i've installed BC 2.0 as described:
1)Install Medieval Total War 2 (vanilla game)
2)Patch to version 1.3
4)Defragment your drive
5)For people who extract their MTW2 files, you cannot have the BC 2.0 and extracted files in the same root folder (SEGA/MTW2) Instead extract your files in separate domain. Failure to do so may crash the BC in some cases.
6)Continue to installation steps
III. Installation
7)Start the installer by running bc20.exe
8)The installer will automatically detect your M2TW installation folder, if this does not work manually select your main M2TW directory, (e.g. C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War)
9)Select your original game version (ENGLISH vs. NON-ENGLISH) and start the installation process (NOTE: wrong selection here will cause CTD issues!)
10)Start the game with the Broken Crescent shortcut on your desktop
Actually i've not understood point 5 but i've not modified my game.I have vista and an ORIGINAL copy and the problem is the SAME when selecting a georgian army or agent or the rebel army in varna.....................try to guess.............CTD and unspecified error report.Well there is a good point the Kypchan army do not crash anymore. Please help me if you wish.
My game version is in italian language.Obviously i've chosen the NonEnglish option during the installation.I think my game version is not supported by this mod............Pity
Well, this is definitely related to missing or different sound accent files in your game version.
The funny thing is though, that Armenia, Byzantium and some others share the same setting in the non-english version as Georgia. Strange that these seem to work ... can you verify that those work normally?
As long as I don't know which files are missing in your game version, it is hard for me to help.
Fistable thank your for your interest.
Well Byzantium and Armenia work perfectly. You have said that the setting of ERE and Armenia are the same of Georgia but if you consider my problem there should be some little differencies;maybe the problem rely on those diferencies.
Is there a way to see which files are missing?A sort of report? Thanks again
Yes.
Open your medieval2.preferences.cfg with notepad/editor and add:
Now, a log of most actions of the gameengine will saved in YourMedieval2Folder/LogsCode:[log] to = logs/system.log.txt level = * trace
Note: working with the logfile can be difficult. If your lucky the logfile will contain an errormessage which file is missing (usally near the end of the log). If you cant find it, jump the the end of the log and point the cursor in the last line, klicking. Now search for, ascending. This should point you to the error message.Code:[error]
IF there is an error message.
If not, things get more complicated, but lets try this first.

I did the first part of what you said but it appears i've no logs(meaning i cannot find such file) in MTW2 folder
Sorry, but without having the Italian version here for testing, I can't do much, as analyzing the differences takes a lot of time and effort, which I don't have.
The easiest solution for you would be to buy an UK import version which should not cost that much anymore.
EDIT: The log entries generated while the game is running are of little help. Only the logs when generating the sound.dat and event.dat files help to pinpoint the issue.
I have the exact same problem with Georgian armies causing a CTD.
My MTW 2 is German language, patched to v1.3. I'm running BC v2.01 (used the non-English installer option).
I editted both the bc.cfg and the medieval2.preference.cfg files to enable error logging, but for some reason it doesnt work. No log files are being written.
Is there any hope of a work-around for this, as it seems a lot of people with non-US/UK game versions have encountered this problem?
Im using the german version, too, but I don't have problems like this. Everything runs just fine![]()

Actually, I am developing and testing on a German version of M2TW! So this should not be the case, as I have no issues with Georgia at all.
Add the above mentioned entries to your bc.cfg file, then go into the folder broken_crescent/data/sounds and delete the files events.dat and events.idx, and start the game!
The game engine should generate those files from scratch. If you should experience a CTD on first start, go into your Medieval 2 folder, and in the subfolder logs you should find the log file of that start attempt. Upload that file and send me the link.
Also make sure, that you try this on a clean installation as suggested in the installation instructions. Most important do not overwrite previous BC installations, but delete these first.
Im from spain. I Have Spanis version i got the same error. I try 1.3, try kingdoms installation and then BC.
I try bc20 to and the same error happends.
In this moment i´m reinstalling MTW2 and repatching it propely. I will try Bc20 but i dont hope it runs propely.
Georgian failure is the only failure i have got.
Thanks for your atention.
