Default How come crossbows act like guns?

They can't fire over people. They always aim in that stupid upward position. How do you prevent them from doing so?

Crossbows aren't arc-fire weapons. They are direct-fire. Don't stand between the crossbowman and the target, injury or death may result.

Depending on the field you can put soldiers infront just remember to not put them too close. They will shoot over. Just like the catapult.

Actually by the time of the Battle of Agincourt crossbowmen were commonly trained in the art of "Falling fire" it is described as firing your cross bow at an angle so that the bolt would come down on your targets shoulders or head, so yes they did really fire that way.

If you don't believe me pick up "Agincourt" by osprey publishing.

Probably true, but its not that effective as far as i have noticed. I'd rather have them shoot right at them.

Viscule is correct. They shoot in a slight arc, if the enemy is kinda far and your men arent super close it will go right over.
