    Default New Unit problem

    heya


    i've been trying to add a new unit, the problem is that while loading the splash screen, it crashes without showing anything in the log

    You declared 3 upgrade levels but only one model.
    And you have only one model\level in the modeldb file.

    Maybe that's the culprit. Or this one: Red = wrong, blue = correct

    The battle_model entry you posted looks perfect, I have mine set out in the same way. If the game is CTD'ing on the splash screen it does suggest the problem is in the battle_models file. If the problem is not in the entry could it be in the mesh or a texture?

    here it is, i've made it



    i'm starting to think the mod is messed up somewhere else, so i'm going to install a super-duper recent backup

    i hope that will fix it

    Either that or you have too many spaces after your numbers, 2 spaces after a 0, 1 after other numbers...

    so after installation this is the problem (note that the new unit entries in EDU and unit_models were deleted)

    what does that means?


    the model is fine (i'm 100% sure it is ok) and it worked a few days ago

    You're getting this error because you're using the wrong 'soilder' entry. The entry you've given the 'Outremer Knights' in the EDU gives it two weapons but the 'dismounted_knights_of_outremer' entry in the modelDB only has one weapon.

    To fix this change the following line in the EDU:

    soldier dismounted_knights_of_outremer , 24, 0, 1

    To this

    soldier feudal_knight , 24, 0, 1


    If you've deleted the feudal knight you'll need to use another modelDB entry that has two weapons assigned to it.

    Post the knights of outremer modelDB entry, it will almost certainly be the culprit. And its EDU entry wouldn't hurt.
