    Default Who needs loyalty?

I've probably played 50 long campaigns in M2TW, and I've NEVER had a general rebel against me, regardless of his loyalty rating. I've had armies that were led by captains rebel, but never a general. I remember in MTW, your faction could be thrown into a civil war if you had a lot of generals with low loyalty. Was this toned down in M2TW?

I've had generals rebel, but this is rare and i've seen it only happen with generals below 3 loyalty... anything that's 5 or more loyalty is almost 99.99% sure that it won't rebel...

One thing is, once ur general start getting 2, 1 or even 0 loyalty the chances that he will rebel rise drastically!

btw: a better question would be: WHY WOULD A MUSLIM GENERAL NEED PIETY?!
E:TW's natives have developed a new "Ballistic Automatic Detection And Seeking System" to utterly annihilate any European that sets foot on their soil... That's BADASS for short!

because there are less pious and more pious Muslims too
"Therefore I am not in favour of raising any dogmatic banner. On the contrary, we must try to help the dogmatists to clarify their propositions for themselves. Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

Because there are more than enough muslims who just use Islam to justify cruel deeds.

Having a general to rebel loyalty ain't the only trigger but piety is also... where loyalty plays another big role is when having low loyalty your chances for him to get bribed is also great, so another faction could steal that general for their own..

Your leaders Authority seems to have a greater bearing on whether units/generals will rebel. Low authority and low loyalty (and alot of troops under the guys command) is recipe for disaster.

You probably just have a good leader.

50! I get bored midway through one and have to start a new one.

I've had generals get bribed. I dont think in M2TW its as much them rebeling as other factions bribing them...
