Default Factions Loose Capital on First Turns?

    Hello All,

I would like to check about this here, I could not find a related topic with search.

I played half a campaign with SS 6.1 + BGIII on hard hard and things seemed ok until I found out i needed the BGIII fix to recruit the better units.

Next I started 2 campaigns on vh/vh with BGIII fix and the submod to play 2 turns per year (sync char ages). But now I have weird things happening. Both campaigns saw 3 factions loose their capitals in the first 12 turns, one faction was destroyed. I wondered whatīs doing that and at the second campaign I got a neutral army to siege my city. Itīs no worry for me, but the AI Factions dont seem to handle it well. I am like in turn 25 as Holy Roman Empire (the second capmpaign) and Genoa (and Milan), Venice, Lisbon and the Kwarezmian capital got taken by neutrals. The Kwarrezmian are gone with that. This is making the campaign easier as HRE now has the upper hand on north italy because I toke Venice and I am about to take Milan form the neutrals. These neutrals attacks (if thatīs the only reason for the capital loosing) did not happened on my first SS campaign. Whatīs wrong?

    My thanks,

The problem with Capitals going rebel has to do with the 2TPY mod. It's a real shame because I prefer 2TPY but it seems Capitals rebelling is an unavoidable bug with that mod. I'm sure you can find more info in the sub-mods thread.

    My thanks,

I tested it last night with the 2YPT + RR + BGIII and still 4 factions lost capitals until turn 12.

I will remove 2YPT and try SS late campaign.

Rebellion of capitals is a known bug in 6.1!

However the unofficial 6.2 patch has Rozanov's tweaks on that matter..and the rebellions of capitals are now very very rare(if not eliminated)!

    I highly recommend it..

By neutrals, do you mean rebels? I thought your problem was that factions werent declaring war...

I am not all sure what makes the capitals fall if rebel armies siege and take then or if the capital just rebel and turn grey. I saw a rebel army move and siege my city at one game so I tought it might be it. By the way...I was quite surprised to see a rebel army do that, very funny, they would have taken my city if I had not spoted the army and just recruited in the city to go bash then.

I shall try 6.2 then as Satiago sugested, BGR IV seems intimidating but I more or less overcame the frustration with the faction generals turning all traitors with BGR III (I end using then as extra cavalary for the loyal ones). Lets see what surprises come with 6.2 + BGR IV

    ((6.2 works with 2TPY?))

{{ooops, yes by neutrals I mean rebels, I end seeing the rebel cities as neutrals as they dont coordinate like a faction))

    My thanks,

The problem with the 2TPY mod was that AI cities were rebelling on their own. Not because rebels were attacking them.

    Thanks,

I guess I will drop 2TPY now and check 6.2. Does 6.2 comes with BGR IV (I am looking at 6.2 thread but itīs a long one)? If I re-install 6.1 with no RR and BGY III do I need to clear any other file before 6.2?

The newest version of RR comes with BYGIV and 6.2 RC3.

6.2 RC4 is out and can be downloaded from the 6.2 thread but it isn't compatible with any other mods at the moment.

6.2 RC5 will be out soon. (maybe next week).
