Default crash on battle loading screen

    Hi All,

Like all on here I think 1.9 is fantastic, I've done the full install. I had some problems - but Florian's patch stopped the CTD at the end turn...

however, I wouldn't be on here if it was all dandy..:hmmm:

The problem. Initially when loading up a battle screen (was against some rebels). I included a general from a local town (simply to get him some command stars), on the loading battle screen (the quotation and the scabbard which inidcates progress), at this point the mouse pointer popped up and a pop-up grey box citing some file that couldn't be found. I stupidly didn't write what files it couldn't find down. It then crashed to desktop.

Next try - I load up and automatically resolve the battle. No probs. I then encounter some more rebels...this time I used some new units - and it must be said that I recently had the Marian reforms. In fact the Marian reforms occured prior to the first CTD problem (which was solved).

This time the battle load screen comes up - but the scabbard which indicates load progress only indicates progress to the hilt of the scabbard. The game then freezes. I can't do anything and even ctrl+alt+delete doesn't get a response.

really could do with some advice compadres!

    cheers

Default Re: crash on battle loading screen

Just thought I'd update - in the above post I pointed out how I didn't write down the apparently missing files which would pop up in a grey box in the battle load screen.

Well - I went back in and repeated the attemtp at a battle - this time with a general. The following box appeared on the battle load screen

"Script error in data/descr_model_battle.txt at line 684, column 34" it then mentioned the lack of "RTRPE/Data/RTR/models_unit/rome_early_general.cas"

When I had the initial problem I patched using Florius' patch and used the non-mod option. Should I have used the other? When I look for the route path for it I only have Rome/Total War and not RTR as an option (which I suppose discludes this as a problem).

Either way - thought the extra info might help!
