I asked the same question on the rome medieval topic but i want to trye to find a solution here on this topic to

Is it possible to have 2 mods on Rome Total war ?
Becose somehow the mod rome medieval installed it self in to, C: program files –creativeassembly-rome total war , and I cant instal a new one for somme reason becose it said you all reddy got one installed.
But I like to instal the mod Chivalry as well, but this mod also instals in to C: program files –creative assembly-rome total war, so I wos wondering if I could instal them both in the same folder?
Any one got a solution please?

well, i think you should re-instal RTW,and this is why:


if a mod is modfoldered (it will make it's own folder in the rtw directory) then you can play it together with ANOTHER modfoldered mod....BUT, you can't play a mod wich is modfoldered and a mod wich is not (rhyme...) together.


what i do in such cases is this: my rtw is located in C:/Program Files/The Creative Assembly/Rome: Total War

i just copy the files in there, make a new folder in C:/Program Files/The Creative Assembly and name it, for example, Chivalry: Total War, then i just install the mod THERE, instead of the original directory!

it's very useful, and i have about 5 mods installed right now (N2: TW, RTR, RS, ChivTW and Darthmod)

Well, you can read it also in the sticky 'Main Release' thread.

Bull is right, you can install several modfoldered mods in one RTW directory, if this RTW directory is unmodified, means no original data is changed.
In case of Rome Medieval i think it is modfoldered, too, so you could install both mods in one RTW directory, and several others as well.
No reason to reinstall RTW in this case. Just make sure your RTW data isn't changed!

Hi,

Strange thing is i got 5 mods working i did have the original RTW Gold unmodded, and by copy it and change the name they all work.
But when i installed Rome medieval it when installed automaticly in to my original un modded RTW folder i tryed to change this but no succes.

So is there any solution for this ?

... this is not a question for our forum.

However, if you have one working unmodified RTW directory (vanilla) then you are done for any modfolder-installations, just install them into this 'vanilla' directory.

In case of Rome Medieval, i cannot help, go into their forum will help surely more as to ask after this specific thing in the ChivTW forum, i guess you understand this.

I'm sorry to tell you, but rome medieval is NOT modfoldered, meaning it is installed in your Rome TW folder, replacing some files in your data folder...you cannot use any other mods if you have rome medieval installed..you have to make a new ,clean rtw install..i did...actually a have 3 different installs....one for Chivalry and Viking invasion2 (both they have their own modfolder), one for Rome Medieval, and one for Crusades TW....

"Crusades TW" ... you mean 'Crusader Total War' or Caius 'The Crusades'. The latter one, does it work in the meantime properly, i had this superbe mod installed after the release, and it crashed always.

I didn't know about that Rome Medieval thing. I am certain that it's messed with the command flag symbol (it has a huge cross on top of an eagle - funny for Islamic factions). I don't think I've had crashes or problems on Chiv, though.

Chiv covers the period between 11th century and 13th century..i'm interested in rome medieval cause it also covers the late middle ages, and thats when gunpowder was invented

Hey, i'm very tensed how ETW will play out. Of course my comment above was joke as i'm rather a supporter of historical shaped mods.
And if a mods' timeframe has gunpowder then it shall be in, but hopefully not exagerated or in other words ahistorical in the timelines as the first gunpowder units appeared or for example as CA tends to create rocket launcher elephants andthelike.
Now ETW is a clear gunpowder and saber game, and i'll surely enjoy it to play with canons on land and on sea
