The standard javelin animations in M2TW are very slow, rendering skirmishing with javelins very difficult. Is the EB team going to redo the javelin animation so that they can be thrown faster?

For any who are interested by my FF on occurrences in Rhun and beyond; I have begun a new project (not because the old one is finished, just opening more room for ideas) about one of the minor characters, Rankal. It is in the Third Age AAR index and here is the link http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=376994

M2TW animations are level 100 RETARDEDnezz xD
Good, I assumed so but wanted to make sure. Of all the things that were wrong in RTW, the javelin throw and reload speed was pretty spot on, I think (maybe they were a little overpowered, but...). In M2TW it's almost impossible to get one volley off before melee, let alone two.
We have already changed those anims, specially the ones where the skirmisher had his back to the attacking enemy. In most cases, they were in the middle of the turn to face the enemy when the engine decided that they should retreat... this forced them to cancel the throw and sometimes even get caught by the pursuers.
Right now, our skirmishers have enough speed to retreat from another non-skirmisher infantry unit and keep firing until exhausting the ammo. After that they just keep running, although sometimes they get too bold... but that's another story.![]()

He wants to be older, because when he is older, 1 or 2 years will have past. And that is 1 or 2 years closer to eternity, which is the release date of EB II.
Just imagine after all this trouble, CA decides to make a RTW2.
The ridding animation also needs changing as there were no stirrups back then.

To subdue the greeks we need to strike in their history and their tradition and their identity.

Let's just hope that ETW is not so de-meleefied that it becomes difficult to make a pre-gunpowder mod for it. I can see how the CA programmers would make all sorts of limits to the engine based on the assumption that it was only going to be used for that time period, which could cause headaches for modders. I am hopeful that it will be very open and moddable, though, based on two things:
1) CA plans on using the ETW engine for a second game, which they have already said could be a Rome or Shogun game, so it makes sense that they wouldn't limit it.
2) Lusted is over there every day whispering in the ears of the programmers, and I have faith that he will protect the interests of modders.
Great! I dont like the 18th century anyway.
(I think rome won that survey by far)
