    Default Princess suicide

Beware of marrying a princess of a weak faction! Aragon was about to go down, and there was this lovely princess. I figured, I'll save her by marrying her to my prince and bringing her into my family. Alas, it seems that her ties to her motherland were too strong... When Aragon was conquered, she couldn't resist it and drank some poison. She died "peacefully" 1143 A.D. Fortunately, after producing a heir.

Are there any traits caused by being orphaned in childhood? :hmmm:

Wow I dont recall that happening before. I've had princesses die before but not tied to their original faction's destruction...maybe it was a coincidence?

Actually they are tied to their faction. Once the faction is no more she and all remaining characters in the game die as well (ships, diplomats, mechants, assasins, spies, princesses and unfortunately even married princesses as well). Only positive about this is that you will know for rest of the game when that faction died... But it is stupid feature none the less.

Did you get any children from her, before she passed on?

If you did, at least you may get a General from it, when he is old enough

    Hello there,

Marrying to the most beautfull princess may not be good sometimes.

I was playing as Aragon and I rushed to marry the prince (King Sancho grandson) to the most lovely princess ever found (full hearts). She was 30 and he was 20 and she added like 5 traits to the Prince:

    Wife is Charming
    Wife is Usefull
Wife is Domineering (Why she always have to be there for all decisions?)
    Wife is Unpleasant
    Wife is Gracefull

The result was that even with the Prince being Virile they never got a son/daughter until late. Seems she was too busy with herself. She only made a son when she was 53 and the prince turned King and they NEEDED a heir!

The most ridiculous situation is when they get one trait that gives +1 popularity, and another that gives -1 popularity.

I think the best princesses to marry are those with 6-7 hearts. If he gets the "wife is fair" trait and nothing else, that's the best.

I just had a game where all four daughters of the king were illegitimate. Supposedly, this only happens when the wife is ugly or has a bad temper, but the king had no visible traits given by the queen. Perhaps hidden traits?

Don't you also get illigitimate children if you have the adultress ancillary? I played a Scottish campain and 4 out of 5 of the Kings sons were "bastards". And of course the computer chose one of the bastards as the heir. Not being able to choose your faction heir has to be one of the most frustrating things about this game. But that's for another thread.

Do as i do, if you have enough children. Throw them out on the sea and let them drown. Of course its an accident.

Yea I sent the Bastard heir to his death at sea. Then an adopted general became the faction heir.

I reloaded since the bastard at least was the kings son and not some outsider.
