Default Concilium Plebis - Tribune Elections

The Plebeian Tribunes were elected by a separate body of the Roman Government known as the Concilium Plebis, or the Council of Plebeians. Made up of "Tribes", much like the Comitata Tributa and Centuriata, only Plebieans could vote in it.

To vote in this thread, your character MUST be a Pleb. Non pleb votes WILL be discounted. Keep in mind that votes added by popular favor will make up the overwhelming majority.

There are only two candidates though? So I guess we are appointed automatically.

Just in case. I vote for M. Clodius Marcellus.

Yeah basically, though this does give us a risk free way to try out this new election system.

Why can only Plebeians vote? We only have three of 'em

And two candidates, that would mean you two becoming Tribune instantly, we need two!

I think you'll find we have around 5-6 plebs.

I also think we should get rid of one the tribunes next election or this one.

Na don' t limit tribunes to only 1. It should be a rule to have a minimum of two tribunes.

It is not specified anywhere that I can see. I just think that they are too numerous given the number of senators. especially plebs.

I agree, what's more, their always the same candidates. This poll is practically irrelevant because there are only two candidates...

Just because you have a thing against them, vetoing your warmongering motions. Also, any changes to the constitution should be made RP, and not OOC.

Well if we would have more members there would be more plebs. We should have at least two because thy could start a war ore you could bribe one of them ... you name it it is more fun in having two. Hell i will even change from patrician to plebs if this would mean we keep two tribunes.

Or we should open up this spot for every member of the senators patrician or plebs just to get more people for the office of tribune.

We're not dropping to two tribunes. The Romans had ten so that they would not be overwhelmed by the opposition, and the reason remains the same here.

OY! Its fine as it is guys, why fix something when it isnt broken?
People will believe a lie because they want it to be true; or they're afraid it's true.
Given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe its true, or because they're afraid it might be true. Peoples' heads are full of knowledge, facts and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true. People are stupid; they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool.

Having only one Tribune will greatly destabilize the Senate, and it should, as Marcellus said, be handled through the use of RPing, since it is an important part of the constitution.
