Default Baghdad to act as host for Washington-Tehran talks

Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari said Baghdad plans to host U.S.-Iranian talks on the security situation in Iraq, Iran’s Mehr news agency reported Feb. 16. Zebari called Iran an important neighbor and said Tehran wants “special relations with Baghdad with goodwill,” adding that the U.S. influence in Iraq also is “undeniable.” Iran and the United States have some issues to work out between themselves, and Baghdad wants to see cooperation among the three countries, he said. Zebari rejected reports that Iraq is being lenient when it comes to expelling Iranian opposition group Mujahideen e-Khalq, saying Baghdad has made a decision on the group and a special committee will oversee its expulsion.

While its good I dont expect much from these, mostly Iranian lecturing on history (like they tried last time) and little substances on actual issues in the here in now. Iran will walk away with Obama is just like Bush, blah blah blah...but atleast Obama can say he tried. Now I hope Im wrong, that Iran will see rejecting any progress as actually harmful to their case but I doubt it.
