http://www.stratfor.com/sitrep/20090..._iranian_talksIraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari said Baghdad plans to host U.S.-Iranian talks on the security situation in Iraq, Iran’s Mehr news agency reported Feb. 16. Zebari called Iran an important neighbor and said Tehran wants “special relations with Baghdad with goodwill,” adding that the U.S. influence in Iraq also is “undeniable.” Iran and the United States have some issues to work out between themselves, and Baghdad wants to see cooperation among the three countries, he said. Zebari rejected reports that Iraq is being lenient when it comes to expelling Iranian opposition group Mujahideen e-Khalq, saying Baghdad has made a decision on the group and a special committee will oversee its expulsion.
Well the the talks will begin today.
