    Default Suggestions for after Empire

I know this is probably the wrong spot for this, but I just spent 15 minutes trying to find the right spot and this seems to be the best one I found. I just wanted to put my 2 cents up for what I think should come after Empire: Total War (I know your all probably sick of hearing suggestions like these, but I want to get my word in somewhere).

    1. Rome II: Total War (I really really want to see this)

    2. A "Fantasy": Total War (such as a LotR, Star Wars, World of Warcraft?, just any non-RTS game or a movie or book that might be cool as an RTS, and who better to make it than the Total War crew?)

    3. A "futuristic": Total War (such as laser guns and ion cannons, ect. (kinda like the "gun": TW mentioned below, just far into the future))

    4. A "gun": Total War ("gun" meaning, WW2 (WW1?), modern day, vietnam, ect.)(but I feel this should only be made if they can offer something better than the games already made for this type, I would hate to see Total War become the laughing stock by creating yet another WW2 RTS to fill up the shelves at Wal-mart)\

Well thats my 2 cents, and laugh, tease, yell, and scream at me all you want (somehow that always happens when I make suggestions), but I just wanted to get my word in...

Nah, sensible, interesting post, thanks for your suggestions. Personally? I'd opt for 2 (published by someone different than CA), followed by 1, followed by 3 and.... hopefully not 4
    IMPORTANT:
If you wish to use, modify, build on or do just about anything to or with any of my mods, feel free to do whatever you want. All I ask is to have my name in the credits somewhere :-)

    avoid fantasy total war..

i would imagine they are already storyboarding where they can go next with total war... there's at least one expansion pack to come with empire...

i think to a degree... what's 'cool' at the time of development will come into it.. its no co-incidence that rome's development followed several successful rome based games by other companies, and an academy award winning film called gladiator along with several other successful rome based films and tv series...

then again with medieval 2 total war it followed films such as kingdom of heaven and tv series' such as the tudors..

i think we should look to what period hollywood makes cool over the next year or so for clues as to where total war should go... because it helps if there is already awareness and excitement for the period they're working on.

I don't think Hollywood has much to do with it. After all, they made Shogun in the late 90's, not Scottish Rebellion or D-Day: Total War, and before anime & Japanese culture was so popular.
I think CA would do something that no one can do as well as they can, which rules out modern-era games. Honestly, nobody's gonna make a WWII RTS better than Company of Heroes.
I think Rome II (or even Shogun II? Please?) wouldn't be a stretch of the imagination, and a fantasy license after that. Only not WoW, seeing as Warcraft is already a strategy title owned by another company. You should check out Star Wars: Rebellion, it's a very TWesque hybrid strategy title from the 90's. Dated, but incredibly deep.

Personally, I would like a Total War spin on Age of Mythology. Or even more ambitiously, one involving a Grand Campaign spanning all of history, from Homeric spearmen to homing missles.

I'd rather they fix Empire first. Though they're probably working on an expansion instead.

Anyway, seriously, I hope for either a Rome II or Shogun II.

Or even an East Asia-centric one. Like the mod All Under Heaven. Dynasty: Total War?

A Shogun remake could be added in as a mini campaign a la Kingdoms' campaigns.

I really don't think there'll ever be, at least I hope, a Total War post 1900. With WWI and machine guns, the nature of warfare changed entirely. It stopped being about clashes of armies and decisive battles and more about strategy, commitment of forces and supply lines, and less about individual forces. Not that these things didn't matter before.

I think a Warhammer: Total War would work brilliantly though. The tabletop game, with blocks of infantry, is perfectly suited for adaptation. Mark of Chaos is OK, but a bit bland. Having all the races on one map would be brilliant. The systems of alliance would be fun too. Anyone who plays the tabletop game can empathise with me about how awesome it would be commanding an animated army of what we paint and play with.

There is plenty of fantasy mods ( LOTR-TW , METW , End of Days 1 and 2 and much more).

Also i think the World of Warcraft Total War is a good idea!

So i would like too see Rome Total War 2

    Microbe: Total War

You are in charge of a virus invasion of the human body, the campaign map is shaped like a person, with uniquie different factions reprisenting all the major organs.

Am I not taking this seriously enough?
