    Default Need help with crash

It had been several months since I had last played M2TW, but last week I decided to try the Eras Lite mod. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the mod to work, so I decided to play a grand campaign of M2TW. Everything went well for the first several moves, then I tried to fight a battle. Much to my dismay after finishig loading the battle the game crashed to desktop due to an "unspecified error". Thinking that the mod might have changed some files I uninstalled M2TW and Kingdoms, deleted the remaining files in the M2tW folder, then re-installed M2TW and Kingdoms.

The problem has persisted and also seems to occur when I use the Teutonic and Crusades Kingdoms mods, but not the Britannia or Americas mods. Notabley I've played the Teutonic and Crusades mods in the past, but not Britannia or Americas. When I start the two affected mods I note that the "Continue Campaign" banner is active even though when clicked the screen flickers but stays in the same menu. When I try to play M2TW the "Continue Campaign" banner is lit also, and when clicked it takes me to the game I had started this week. The thing is that I deleted all the save games. I've done a search of hidden files on my computer and I can't find the savegame file.

My guess is that there are savegame files somewhere that are affecting how my computer tries to load battle screens. Only those mods that I've played in the past are affected because only those mods have savegame files. Any idea how I can clean my hard drives of the offending files and make a fresh start?

If you totally uninstalled everything and was able to reinstall it, the traces went with it, hopefully.
The best way to make sure you have nothing hid, go to My Computer, click on the C:\ prompt, click search and type in any mod name you can think of including any abbreviations that may have been used.

If it comes clean, you're good. If not, delete them, and afterwards run a registry cleaner to get the traces out of there, too.
