Crash when starting a battle
Hello. Im experiencing nasty crash when entering a random battle on the battle map - no text after, it just crash to the desktop. I have these troubles in MTW and Kingdoms too. Both games are legaly bought, Im using Vista x64. And no patches, mods etc applied to the game. Anyone have a solution?

I considered that installing patch was a bad move - there are more crashes and more often also... anyone have any advice?

Re: Crash when starting a battle
Graphics errors don't leave error messages. The best fix if you've unpacked the game is follow the directions in the readme that came with the unpacker. If not, Kingdoms Update will fix many of them. After that, realize some units and walls are still bugges and are part of the game.

Im not quite sure what do you mean by "unpacking game" i just installed MTW and Kingdoms from my dvd and applied newest patches. And those files you are talking about.. i cant find them in my data floder there are just some more floders but not any text files or so.

Re: Crash when starting a battle
Then you didn't unpack it. Don't unless you plan to mod or a mod requires it. Did you apply the Kingdoms Update patch? As I already said it's not a cure-all.
If it's happening randomly then it's certain units in the game that it's trying to load/use on the battlefield and they are missing an animation file here and there, hense the crash and no record of what went wrong. It's one of the things wrong with the game and I haven't seen anyone yet go through all the units and fix them.
The only alternative short of doing the animation files yourself is just autoresolve the battle. If it's a battle you know you can win, cheat.
