    A battle against Lombards is about to begin.


    Nottice that the Emperor brough his Tagmatic troops with him and merge them with regional ones (Thematic).

In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.

    I wish that there was more written about the campaigns of John Kurkuras. He really laid the foundations for the successes of Nikephoros, John I, and Basil II. An interesting leader that is little known today.

    the can be recruited only in the capital (constantinople) with a very low rate.

    I have wrote it in the Recruitment preview years ago.
    Each faction Roster devides in to following sections.
    Regional
    Capital.
    Regional devided into :
    Levy
    Proffesional
    Local nobillity
    Capital of each faction has a Palace.
    In that Palace Imperial units are recruited.
    The number of imperial units varies from 2-6 according to each faction. Every Palace unit requires 20-25 turns to become available again. That is nessesary inorder to avoid players and AI ussing only those units ingame and ruin it authensity.
    In that battle Emperor had two of each of his 5 Palace units and gave 4 battles with them. He traveled with them from Constantinople via the Via Egnatia that exists in game, crossed Adriatic sea and landed into Magna Grecia. In each battle he uses only one of each Palace unit and uses the other one as casualties replenish. When both units will be left with too few units to fight he will take them back to Constantinople and retrain them instead of creating new ones. That way the expiriene those units gained in to battlefileds wont lost.

    The map is old. Ignore the regions borders and their capital names.

    What we like you to see is what will happen if a region under your or under AI control rebel.What kind of rebels will spawn.
    See how spread the slavic tribes are in the upper side of our map. That is intentionaly inorder to explain the culture fusion that followed by many invadors like Rus, Magyars, Pechenegs etc.
    Great Moravia being slavic like Serbia and Croatia will spawn rebels of their own. Why ? Because in that time the slavic nations of theirs were Christian while the rest of Slavs were pagans.
    In those areas a player of AI faction will be able to hire spesific mercenaries that will flee if there will be no money to pay for their work!
    East Frankia rebels present the early opposition to Otto when he transformed his state to his Ottonian Empire. You will also nottice that in many cases rebels belong to different nations than the region owners. That is because local population does not automaticalu disapear over a night but generations required inorder to enforce a new culture or a new religion.
    But...why Magna Grecia has Roman/Greek rebels?
    The answer is because even today there are many villages that still speak ancient (Doric) Greek dialect italian call it Greakani!
    Before WW2 there were 77 villages that did not speak Italian but this dialect. Today are only 7 that speak both Greakani and Italian ofcourse!
    Remember TGC mod is not simply a mod to enjoy battles and high quality graphics .Its a playable educational tool.

    I do not agree with your choice regarding arab rebels in west sicily: the vast majority of the island population was not arab, but italian. Italian or roman rebels would make much more sense, in my opinion.

    We made that choice for two reasons. 1st Arabs already had established an orginised society in Sicely in 9th century and we need them inorder to allow the Kalbids Arab rebelion against Achlabids/Fatimids.
    Kalbid rebelion will give access to Arab archers to Normans when they will arrive to Sicely.
    After the Arab coquest of eastern Sicely the former Roman citizens either seeked refuge in west Sicely (here in Syracuse and Messina that despite that is under Arab control its rebels will be Romans) either Islamised and became part of the new society.

    The landskape installed by _tartaros_ with many efforts and all credits must go to him and hollycrusader (if i am not mistaken) that helped him alot.

    Music , languages and other extras will follow the release as FLCs. But the real work is on the campaign scripts both _tartaros_ and Miquel80 work on...You will see things that will remind you MTW-1 and many other goodies!

    currently updated all mercenaries + itīs recruitment (which is quite unique in itīs case).
    also introduced and tested a new factional recruitment: allowing regional aor and factional recruitment + a slowly develope cultural assimilation recruitment of factional troops everywhere, if the cultural level is high enough. this is what iīm doing atm. when this is finished, athoniusII send me his work which is also alot new stuff (venice+papalstate factional roster, reworked islamic factions)

    This sounds amazing. So Venice will be a emerging/rebel faction? Or be available from the start?

    for now, venice will spawn via event as an realm of the eastern roman empire.
    but it has itīs own culture and donīt share the same religious fate after the great schism and is going slowly itīs own ways.
