    Icon6 Sieges

    Hey all,

Any of you guys like to do Sieges on M2TW? I think it's fun and challaging if you do it the right way.

most of the mp sieges I've played have terrible lag, but yes one of my first games playing M2 was a siege and I can still recall the first time I heard the thunderous whoosh of the tower balistae raining down on my troops and the firing of crossbowmen on the ramparts I was filled with awe. I hope for far more realistic and bug free siege in ETW.

Eh, I'm not a particular fan of sieges. Along with the lag, the defenders have waaaay too many advantages. The defending team should have a pittance for florins. Otherwise the city has the streets all staked up, naffatun are everywhere, mortars are everywhere, and they can sally with mounted xbows and harass you and you can't do the same to them. It's nigh impossible.

Not like the braindead AI is capable of that. The only thing close to that I see is perhaps a general, some crossbow militias and a huge excess of ballistae, mangonels, catapuls and trebuchets. It makes taking the walls quite chancy but if you charge your cavalry in you can deal with the crews.
