First off, sorry if it's in the wrong section.
Ok so today in our politics class we held an open forum an the issue of illegal immigration dominated the session. As you would expect the class split into to camps of pro and anti illegal. Now the one "solution" that one guy put up was what really got people going.
He mainly targeted the agricultural part of the economy and stated how most of the people working in this industry are illegals. And went about comparing the number of homeless Americans and illegals (obviously all illegals dont work in agriculture).
Now his solution was to simply toss illegals out and replace them with homeless citizens, now what I had trouble with is that he proposed that the government build housing for them ON the farmlands, uh indentured servants?I'm probably way off on that, Im sure someone could clear that up. So that was pretty much it, Get the homeless off the streets and into housing on farmlands where they could collect pay and become mainstream citizens. He also said how the current US economic crisis only furthers the cause to get rid of people living here illegally.
As always I sat in the back the whole time and said nothing
So what do you think? Personally I think that would cost way to much to do.
