    Default Please, make William Wallace available for the player

    First of all, this is a great mod and I would like to thank all involved.

    One feature is however really disappointing. When you play as any other nation than Scotland William Wallace will appear as a AI hero at some point in the game. But: When the human player plays as Scotland he does not emerge at all. So my question is: Is it difficult to mod the game so that Wallace becomes available for the player, it should be really easy, considering he is already modded in SS.

    What do the devs have to say about this? Could a playable Wallace be included in a future patch? Anyone else find the lack of WW kind of disappointing?

    Sorry if this request is redundant in some way.

    I never play scotland so I never knew this. I'm sure that in the Kingdoms Britannia campagin you can play with him.

    I want William Marshal for England too. :-)
    As for the Paladin, the battle with the Dragon isn't the danger, it's the battle in the heart that he must be wary of.

    william wallace for scotland would indeed be good

    It could be modded in, but realistically unless the player is losing then there isn't a reason for someone such as Wallace to appear. The man was a freedom fighter after all

    Yeah, exactly. he should emerge if the player has only two provinces left, just like it is for the AI.

    In that case all you should need to do is comment out the AI part of the trigger in the campaign script like this:

    Code:
        monitor_event FactionTurnStart FactionType scotland
            ;and IsFactionAIControlled <---comment out this line with a ;
            and I_CompareCounter wallace_spawned = 1
    This won't be savegame compatible though.

    Sounds great, but what is "savegame compatible", does that mean I will not be able to save my games in the future?

    first of all, man, you are a very funny guy...

    or second, you are more newbie in modding than me(I consider myself newbie in modding)...

    ok, what you need to do is put a ";" in front of that line, in that way the line wont fire(disabled), for example, this is what you should have--

    ;and IsFactionAIControlled

    but not the following which was original text in file:

    and IsFactionAIControlled

    simply add a ";" in front of it.

    And it should work, let us know, cuz I want to start a scot campaign soon and wish to marry the princess with him...

    Sorry mate. I should've mentioned where the campaign_script.txt file was. Only a minor detail that I forgot

    Early era = Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign\campaign_script.txt

    Late era = Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6\data\world\maps\campaign\custom\Late_Era_Campaign\custom_script.txt

    I'm sorry Claudius, but it does not seem to work for me. Wallace is still a "no-show" when I let the english take Edinburgh.

    I haven't looked at the script for them, but if the AI gets reinforcements to the templars then yeah it should work.
