Installation....
Okay.....cleaned my hardrive and re-installed my windows xp. Had bought Medieval II TW Gold Edition a couple of weeks ago. Installed it and I keep getting the "Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit."
So I am thinking maybe a bad copy of the disc - so I grab my old copy of Med II TW (which I have had for two years and has always installed and played with/without mods) and install it and get the same thing.
So I re-install the gold edition again - it crashes again -
This was in the log:

Anyone got any suggestions? :hmmm:

Re: Installation....
Take a look at the first line, the line half way down, and the last line and you will notice they have the same time stamp. For what reason, I don't know. I'd say ask the computer gurus in the Basement forums on this site.

Re: Installation....
If that is true, then what other games do you have installed?

Re: Installation....
Check list time.
Reinstalled XP. Did you run Microsoft Update to update everything through SP3?
Did you update Directx9 to the last SDK?
Did you update .Net Framework to 3.5 SP1?
Did you update your video drivers?
