    Ok so I did some research into the UVW map export for 7 and lower, the feature was not implemented until 8. Thats the bad news. Good news is that their is a free plugin that allows you to export the map in 7 as well!

    Just download texporter for your version of max. Hope this helps you.

    apply edit mesh to the model, click select vertices mode. Selct the half of the model you want gone and press delete.

    I assume this is so you can just copy+flip it afterwards so your result is identical on both sides ?

    Yes. Personally I use the symetry modifier because it copies flips and welds the two halves together. Much more effective imho.

    1)Copy the script into your 3ds max script folder.

    2)Start 3ds max

    3)press the utilities tab on your side bar (the hammer)

    4)Press Max Script button

    5)Hit Run Script (It should automatically open to the script folder)

    6)select the script, press open

    7) Click on the utilities drop down, select R:TW Import/Export

    8)Expand the import section

    9)Press the import CAS button

    10) Go to the .cas file you want to edit and open it

    You should be good to go.
