Spain or Portugal?

Who do you suggest I pick for my next campaign?

spain or portugal....flip a coin they are pretty mcuh the same if I remember correctly

Portugal...Aventuros with the Armour upgrade rule all. Plus it's really fun Turtling with them. Grab the rebel castle to the NE and the rebel city to the SE and hunker down...

They are entirely the same... except for aventuros...

They are very similar not the same.

Portugal has Aventuros (Best Pikeman), but they lack a late game professional Cavalry.

Spain has Tercio Pikeman and Gendarmes. They also have sword and buckler men.

I like Spain's units better, but like Portugal better as a faction.

Portugal also has Portugese knights mounted and dismounted and Portugese Arquebusiers.

Their Arquebusiers wear late game partial plate which gives them quite a bit more protection than normal musketeers and arquebusiers. And they look a lot nicer.

I prefer Spain for their history though. A shame they got nothing unique since Aragon has everything they have and a few extra units.

Portugal on VH/H. It is really tough, the moors actually won a heroic victory against me(because of this: My 40 men bodyguard and my 40 mailed knights charged the muslim 40 man general on one side, and 100 jinetes on the other. They slaughtered me...). Then I rebuilt, made a stack of spear militia. Had to use good maneuvering to take Cordoba(castile took granada) and defeat the 4 stacks that surrounded it.
