    Default descr_model_battle oddities

    I have checked descr_model_battle.txt with http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=110000 and found some problems
    1. Incorrect references to textures and models
    a) bi/data/models_unit/textures/PI_Horse_General.tga should be updated to PI/data/PI/models_unit/textures/PI_Horse_General.tga
    b) data/models_unit/mount_horse_General.CAS should be changed to PI/data/PI/models_unit/mount_horse_General.CAS
    c) PI_Praenestini_Hoplites.tga should be updated to (misspelled) PI_Preanestini_Hoplites.tga. It seems it is not a good idea to rename the texture because it is referenced in the model too.
    d) Prom_Gaesatae.tga should be updated to (misspelled) name Prom_Gaesetae.tga.
    3. Models which are not referenced in export_descr_unit and descr_mount
    Code:
    roman_female_peasant_lbc
    roman_male_peasant_lbc
    barb_male_peasant_lbc
    barb_female_peasant_lbc
    east_elephant_crew
    4. Some sprites are missing and it seems existing ones are from vanilla. Shouldn't sprite entries be deleted to avoid CTDs then?

    Excellent, thank you very much for the findings. Will fix it. A question - can you explain me or give me a link to the page that explains how to generate sprites for units? I want to fix this issue once and for all.
    Shouldn't sprite entries deleted to avoid CTDs then?
    Dunno, have to check when I come to the game.

    I'm going to give it a try myself, will keep you posted.

    No, not if they work for the concerning unit, what you can check out in custom battle for every unit, if needed.

    I'll be updating the first post to keep things consistent. Sprites have been generated for most units but are incorrect for some reason. Going to investigate further.

    Ok, here are fixes for all the problems:: http://files.filefront.com/PI+models.../fileinfo.html
    From its readme
    The archive contains some fixes and improvements for unit models:

    1. Incorrect references to models, textures and sprites in descr_model_battle.txt

    2. Duplicate iapygian culture specification in export_descr_unit.txt for some units

    3. Sprites for most models
    (sprite_script.txt which was used to generate the sprites, has been included for your reference)
    Sprites for models that are not referenced in any other files were not generated, i.e.,
    roman_female_peasant_lbc
    roman_male_peasant_lbc
    barb_male_peasant_lbc
    barb_female_peasant_lbc
    east_elephant_crew

    INSTALLATION

    1. Delete ALL files from PI/data/sprites in your PI directory

    2. Unpack the archive into the PI directory
    I have run few custom battles and ProcMon confirmed the sprites are used indeed.
