Default Israel if you ever want to live in a situation where you don't have to fear for your children do no elect Netanyahu

He and Arafat are responsible for this whole mess in Israel right now. Before him Israelis didn't have to fear Palestinian attacks and rocket fire. But thanks to him purposefully taking actions to inflame the Palestinians you do now (along with Arafat idiotically changing the Palestinian policy of mostly peaceful resistance during Intifada 1 to that of violent resistance which undid all their progress for independence)

Or maybe the entire "kill all jews, rawr" mentality of Hamas is to blame?

Or the Isreali " no, i wanna live" mentality?

The kill all Jews, rawr mentality comes from the Second Intifada. The First Intifada gained the Palestinians the Oslo Accords, but Arafat and Netanyahu worked to undo that for their own personal gain. Netanyahu and Sharon did whatever they could to purposefully provoke the Palestinians, and Arafat chose to use armed resistance instead of unarmed resistance against the Israelis which caused the Israelis to respond in kind which inflamed the Palestinians to use more armed resistance.

So I suppose the "drive all Jews into the sea" speech doesn't count then? All the waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back to good ol Nasser.

    LOL

In his time it was the least amount of people who died from terrorist attacks. In the time of Rabin and Shimon Peres and the 'Peace Proccess' dozens of Israelis were murdered in acts of terrorism.

How is this anything else then typical politician blabber? Every politician claims everything from global warming happening if theyre not elected to a swarm of locusts enveloping the land.
Every party is going to put up netanyahu as defense minister though, hes helped a lot with security in Israel . And this is in a country where most politicians are (at least slightly) corrupt uncharismatic and lax.
Dont let your short-term memory fool you, Noone wants rockets surely, but suicide bombings and gunnings and kidnappings have always been worse.

No one is going to put him as Security Minister, forget it. If he wouldn't be elected there are two options: Most likely, he'll remain in the oppostion; Less likely, he'll join the government. If he'll joing the government he will probably become the Finance Minister. I seriously do doubt his honesty, and I hope that no matter who'll be elected Israel will be in a better situation as a result.
    Sigh...

First thing, you know why the Second Intifada was commenced? Ariel Sharon, former president of the Israel, wanted to visit the Muslim population of Israel, and he went to visit one of they're holy places, to show he has respect for they're religion. Guards there stopped him from entering, but it was practicaly the territory of Israel, and so he entered with his bodyguards. The people there thought it was an act of mockery, and called a second intifada.

Second thing, I do agree that Netanyahu is not my choice to win, but I'm afraid that with the number of people that are voting for him, He has a 90-100% chance of winning this election (which is commencing today).

No, Netanyahu is not going to be the defence minister, no body of the other groups wants him to do that. but if he wins, then he's going to put Liberman, another far-right politican, as the defence minister.

    .
That is a real screwed up version of events.

The Second Intifada commenced due to Sharon visiting the Al Asqa Mosque, but it wasn't due to him wanting to show respect...

It was to inflame the Palestinians. He wanted the Palestinians to riot, and knowing Arafat was back in charge (unlike the First Intifada) they wouldn't be led by the clear headed, and mostly reasonable UNC. He knew they would launch terror attacks and shootings in response, which would propel Likud into victory over Labor.

However, this wasn't everything, Netanyahu as PM ed with the Al Asqa Mosque to in order to piss off Palestinians and then he increased subsidies to settlers in the West Bank and along with Sharon encouraged greater and greater settlement there in order to piss off Palestinians in order to make the Palestinians look like a danger to Israel which is what Likud needs for victory.

Also, for the guy who mentioned Nassar, Nassar is not Palestinians, the Arab nations have long used Palestinians as political pawns.

The equivalent of what they were doing would be if George Bush would piss on a Quran on International TV and then when Muslims were pissed off claim that they must be destroyed or they would destroy the US.

Arafat, Sharon and Netanyahu are glad to cause the deaths of thousands of their own countrymen to remain in political power. May all three rot together in hell.
