Default (For Byzantine playas) What kind of Emperor are you?

What kind of ruler is your basileous? Is he so weak he has to stay in Constantinople for fear of backlash, like a Angelos? Is he weak authoritatively but an ambitious campaigner like Romanos IV? Or a real soldier Emperor like Basil II, who reviles all the pomp and ceremony of the City and treds mud into the fine persian shag coming back from yet another decisive arse-kicking venture?

For any who are interested by my FF on occurrences in Rhun and beyond; I have begun a new project (not because the old one is finished, just opening more room for ideas) about one of the minor characters, Rankal. It is in the Third Age AAR index and here is the link http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=376994

My basileios is definitely in the Basil II mode. There are definitelty no effeminate Greeks (if I may use an old Siculo-Norman slur...oppologies in advance) in my Basileia ton Romaion

I've actually been whoring myself around on Rome: Total War these days, but I was playing Chivalry I, and I think it's time to fire up Chiv II since I played that extensively in the past.

I'll let you know where my ambition gets me, I'm feeling hungry!

My Basilieos tends to change depending on the empire but usually I like a Basil II, although Basil never took any risks in war while my Basilieos is usually in the thick of it. In desperate times he's more like a Michael VIII or Alexois I Komnenos: ready to do anything to save his empire and using clever diplomacy to ward off threats and (more like Alexios) almost constantly on campaign. Once my empire is more masterful then he becomes like Basil II forcing everyone to bend to his will or crushing them completely. Usually though I liken him to Ioannis III Vatatzes: nurturing his empire economically and militarily and cleverly using whatever resources are at hand.

    Depends on the situation.

Sometimes, I have a weak authority Basileos, but he remains in Constantinople, becoming an economical master and making my city revenue of over 6000 florins per turn. In that situation, I tend to train his son in arts of war, and make that son like Basileos Basilios II which leads armies from front, always first to charge and last to withdraw. Finally, when times come to solidify and annex completely newly conquered and acquired territories, my Basileos becomes like Michailos VIII Palailogos, a diplomatic genius with no less than 5 10-star diplomats in field, keeping Venice as loyal vassal, which constantly feeds my Empire via regular tributes, which are on other hand insured by strong army presence. Finally after all that is done, my Basileos becomes something like Justinian of old, he builds like insane, making people rich, and my Empire most advanced in entire medieval world.
