It's kinda stupid why armies can't construct such things because there is no one from royalty in the army. Is there a reason why they restricted it that only royalty can build forts and towers?

Any general can build forts and watchtowers, not just those in the ruling family tree.
Ya besides generals or family members, I'm talking bout how come armies w/out a general can't build towers nor forts?
I think it's hardcoded. Otherwise someone would've changed it.
Its just chain of command , King would be pissed if some soldiers built a fort and enemy came and took it over and had a foothold in his country.
Id imagine only kings and generals had access to military funding too such as using steel and stone supplies to build forts
Its realistic like it is imo
I believe a captain and his army could build a fort from cut down trees just as well as any General or family member. Its like this.Captain says --Boys we are out numbered. Lets build a defense fort quickly to try to even the odds.We have no chance in open battle...........The game is flawed to this aspect.Sargents, captains, even privates have made great battle decisions through history.

Maybe not like that but a captain could be send by a general to construct a fort or tower and occupy the fort.
Generals and family members would have better things to do.

Well if you got a lot of archers a fort might be a good idea. They could kill a lot of the enemy army before they get in.
This seems an odd question; if it's a SS specific question then the answer is it's hardcoded and it cannot be modded. If it's a general question it would be more appropriate in the M2TW general forum.
