Where are my Dismounted Tsar Guard

I remember seeing the Russian faction trailer and saw that they had dismounted Tsar guards.

Did they disband the idea?

I searched http://totalwar.honga.net/ and I did not find any mention of such a unit. Sorry, but I will need more info to find it for you. I suppose there is a mod somewhere with such a unit, but not one that I am familiar with.

He means the gameplay preview for the Russians. They're actually bodyguards.

Aye, i kind of wish every mounted knight-esque unit had a dismounted version, never enough heavy infantry in this game

A full stack of dismounted dvor will kill anyone. Russia is my 2nd favourite faction.

Just don't fight aggressive battles in the open. Let them hit you.

You should try mods like Stainless Steel or Broken Crescent, especially Rusichi (in beta).

Strange thing is when I upgrade my Berdiches' armor they don't seem to have those masks on. I really thought they could use them.

Dismounted Dvor are recruitable at the archery_range but not at the marksmans_range, is this intentional or just a genuine mistake.

Its to do with the nationality of the archery ranges. If you take a western european fortress/citadel, you have to sell the existing building and start from scratch. It took me ages to figure it out, and it is very annoying

If you can recruit these Peasant Archers at the marksmans_range and not the Dismounted Dvor then something has gone very awry,

fancy having to use these muppets to repel the Mongol hordes, a little modding is in order me thinks.

Those are Russian Berdiche Axemen, available starting with militia barracks (I think...). I've never seen them in those masks though.

i think the masks are just for the promo
the only other units that have those are tsar's guards, which is why the OP probably thought they were dismounted tsar's guard

If you upgrade the dvor cavalry armor you will see these masks on them as well.
