Why do i keep getting this error with Vanilla M2TW ??

[Griffith]

I keep getting an error that says "Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit." then the screen turns black, this happens to me randomly while im playing the game.

Unless you are running something that isn't showing up in the dxdiag, there is no reason for it not to run.

Have you got all of Vista's updates-even those that don't show up in Windows Uodate? How about Sound Blaster's?

im running the newest drivers, formatted my pc on friday and went to the product websites and downloaded the newest vista x64 drivers for all my hardware, i even downloaded .net framework 3.5 SP1 and updated directx

seems like a really weird issue, i dont think its temp related because my video card runs at 50-55 degrees on load and hard drives at 32-35 on load... not sure about cpu temps
