first of all I had tried this mod four weeks ago and I went bananas, kick ass in every little aspect, so congrats ppl for you work.
Secondly, a good thing got better? Finally We will be able to have a direct heir to succeed his father as king, that amazing, since the release of MIITW I always got annoyed with the inability to choose the heir and now YOU ppl may have given a big contribute to this cause. But How did you did that? I have been thinking and thinking about this subject, talking to some mates that know stuff about modding, and PMemimg a lot of competent and skilled modders and no one had given me a decent answer? So what´s the magic ingrediant
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU, I am gonna marry you all

Absolutely brilliant work. And actually very simple too, beautifully so in fact because picking and assigning the titles is straightforward and realistic, therefore it will never become a headache to assign titles like it sometimes did in v0.7. Fantastic!

    cool stuff, really great.
This hereditary titles system applies to the king and it´s heirs, right? What would happen if the kings lineage would die out, no heirs of first and second grade? could the duke of "something", third cousin of the king, became king due to it´s family connections?

No. These titles are open to everyone. Factionleader titles work different from them. For example, usualy only the factionleader of faction France can hold the title of a King of France. Different to that, the title of a Count of Anjou can be created by any faction that holds the Anjou. So there is a French Count of Anjou when the game starts, but England can also make one of her FMs Count of Anjou, after England conquered this province.

What is important, is that the holder of these titles create "Houses", here the "House of Anjou", what is a trait that is passed down to all their descendants. And this is the difference between the new dHRR system and the regional titles system of other mods: As long as any members of the "House of Anjou" are alive, one of them will inherit the title "Count of Anjou" when the holder dies. The exact order is: (natural) sons of a holder first, after that other members of the respective house.

In some occasions these titles are in fact identiacly to factionleader titles of other factions. For example, the factionleader of faction Swabia will always hold the title of a Duke of Swabia, but any other faction can create a Duke of Swabia of her own upon conquest of Swabia. This works for all (or most) titles that are ranking below king, and some kings' titles too....

This is part of our attempts to manipulate the way the game pics the heir. Yes, sons of a king have the highest priority (what also includes brothers of the recent king, when their father had been king too). Next come other members of the royal family, including characters that you have married to your princesses. After that nobles that hold the highest ranking titles, or that hold many titles.

This is of course cummulative: A FM that has married one of your princesses and is also Duke of Normandy has a higher chance to become next heir than the last living cousin of the king who does not hold any titles.

Preview dHRR 0.8 A House Divided

Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand

    - Matthew 12:25

In 1080 all of Germany is a battlefield! The once mighty Empire of Otto the Great in ruins! Brothers fighting brothers, and vassals their lords!

For Heinrich, ruthless but legal King of Germany, has been banned by the Pope. His enemies, of which he has many, have sized the chance and elected Rudolf von Rheinfelden, Heinrich’s own brother-in-law, their new King. With the help of the Pope and his bishops, those rebellious lords have brought the chaos to Germany.

In the very south Rudolf left his son, Berthold, in charge of his old Duchy of Swabia. But Heinrich had already appointed a new Duke with Friedrich von Staufen. This left Swabia divided into two Duchies, the southern one held by Berthold and his Burgundian allies and the northern one held by Friedrich. Meanwhile the Burgundians and Lorraine are falling on each other.

In Bavaria Duke Welf rebelled against the King. But this proved to have been a bad example, because his vassals in return rebelled against him: The Margrave in Nürnberg as well as the Count in Tyrol both joined the side of the King, reducing Bavaria to nothing but her core lands. Only the Margrave of Austria remained loyal to his Bavarian Duke.

Austria, once the border defence against the Hungarians, now being invaded by the Bohemian host! Such was the reward for staying loyal to his rebel lord: Heinrich declared Margrave Leopold deposed and gave his lands to the Bohemian Duke Vratislav. The Duke only has to submit the Margrave by himself…

But the decisive fighting is going to happen in Saxony: Rudolf, having lost much support in his Swabian homelands retreated to Saxony. Here the opposition against the Rhinish kings always was very strong. Magnus Billung, Duke of Saxony, Otto von Northeim, deposed Duke of Bavaria, Lothar von Stade, Margrave of Brandenburg, and Adalbert, Count of Ballenstedt – the most noble houses of the North rallied to Rudolf’s cause. Many of them had spent years in Heinrich’s dungeons, and many have lost relatives by his hand. All have good reasons to hate the King, have fought him for years and wish nothing but to fight it out this time.

The stage is set, the Civil War has started!

But isn’t this the opportunity the enemies of the Empire have waited for? What is with the Oborites? Even the combined might of the Emperor and Saxony could not prevent them from conquering the lands across the Elbe. Who is going to stop them when Saxon and Imperial knights are already killing each others?

And there is France! For now the French kings are weak and their true possessions are small. But how can they be expected to further respect the Emperor when this one is not even respected by his own Dukes?

Whatever is going to happen in the future of Germany, it will take a strong leader to save the Empire!

    Are you strong enough?

    dHRR 0.8 to come…..
