    Default Removing access

    OK,
I'm going to have to remove access to the beta forum for a whole load of guys that haven't posted anything recently. If you want to continue beta testing please post some updates on campaigns you are running to avoid the chop!

The testers I'm are about to remove access for are these:

    Benz282
    Beorix
    kekesvar.bingos
    Legionary Titus Pullo
    lolgast
    Marku
    Maximus Macro
    MCDS2
    Ragnarok
    Skandranon Rakshae
    Taelok
    Xavier Dragnesi

Obviously if you're working on a campaign and have just forgotten to post updates then forgive me.

I'll check on Pullo. He never replied to my PM about a bug. I'm quite lucky that my name is not listed here. . Anyways, I'm be trying to report soon. I have just finished mourning my ol' hard disk that passed away due to virus. Luckily I got backups including the report so I'll try it mate.

Just you ....but don't feel pressurised or anything!

Seriously though I'd rather not lose anyone, but we do need activity if we are ever to release this thing.

Comrades this list contains the names of 13 enemies of our great Soviet Beta Testing Revolutionaries (SBTR). They are to be purged, comrades, for failure to carry out the 5 year beta testing plans. Let this be a stern warning from the offices of the Roma Surrectum Politburo. NKVD will be sent to hunt them down to see if they should be purged. Comrade King Nud, you are to be awarded glorious red medal of the SBTR for your work for the glory of motherland.

The answer is post in a couple of different places.

If you've noticed glitches with units (mainly graphical) then you've got your own Rome thread: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=209546

There is no reason why if you spot a glitch in another factions unit you can't include it in that faction's thread.

For details of on-going campaigns and details of what sort of armies you are facing post into this thread: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=216459

If while playing the game you see a great shot (we are collecting screens that may be suitable for loading screens) post here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=206680

For these screens Tone will be editing them (maybe just using the 'middle' part (or bottom or top)) so they don't really need to be perfect for the whole picture. I am slowly working through the various factions as you can see from the thread - I am still working out what is needed. Basically, flat battlefields but not covered in trees as the units need to be seen clearly - if they are in the shade they can appear darker than they really are. Maybe it's simply a matter of getting the sun behind you for the shot (if you do any photography that will make sense).

Believe me it's a bit of a pleasant shock to see one of your screens used as a loading screen (if you can still recognize it).

You need to post in this part of the forum - not elsewhere. Unless your posts have been deleted you've not posted in this part of the forum since November 21, 2008 when you posted in the Beta Testing application thread.

Apologies, I simply clicked on the 'show all posts by' link and I've simply reported what is shown. These posts are usually shown in most recent to oldest order.

Beta testing is about playing the game and being able to report what is happening 'in detail' so others can understand what you are explaining.

That function does not show post in the 'hidden forums', such as this beta I have noticed.

i've had some time to play this week end with my belgic campaign, just a few things to report :
2 ctd occured with no message, when assaulting Arverni cities ( just before entering the 3D battle map)
i've played in automatic mode to go further.
    timeframe is about 545 A.U.C
i've seen some strange skins of trees during the battles ,i dont know if it's from the graphical improvement or not, i will post a screen as soon as i will see again.
    That's all for the moment.

No post has been ignored, I look at every one. The problem is...if there are no details or screens, there is not much I can do. "I get three CTD's in one year" tells me nothing. What were you doing? What was the composition of your army or armies? Were you attacking someone? Were you being attacked? Were you taking a city? Losing a city? Pressing end turn? Fighting a battle? With whom?
Where? In the field or in a city? Playing with the latest Revision (11)? Playing with Alex, BI, common old RTW?

The only way to track down errors is to know with minute detail what is going on. Beta testing is not 'playing a campaign and being irritated by CTD's'.....it is detailed reporting or every single error, glitch, problem or weird happening with text and pictures. "I'll post a screen later" usually means (I didn't get a screen, so I don't have one), and I've rarely seen a screen 'posted later'.

"Weird textures on trees"? What exactly was I supposed to say about that? No pictures, no idea what you are talking about. I'll be quite frank, ANY post about a graphical problem that has no screens posted WILL BE IGNORED. If we can't see what you are talking about, there is no way for us to 'imagine' what you mean.

The issue with the 'save game' button being greyed out is my fault....I saw that, and I have seen it myself. It seems to come and go and it does go away once you start playing. I just never said anything because I didn't know what to do about it. Still don't....
