I checked the video settings in-game but I can't find any which affect camera rumbling. The closest thing you could probably do is just not to go near enough an artillery/gunpowder unit while they're firing.
Though someone who mods may know if the setting can be changed via messing around in the game's files.
I've wondered about this too, and I fear that the camera rumble falls into that void known as "hardcoded Med2 aspects".
I also have put some thought into this and to be quite honest i think your hopeless. Ive tried game settings and actually skimmed through the program files and have yet to find any sign of it let alone how to make it stop.![]()

It's not really that much of a bother, honestly. The only times I've noticed it is when I'm significantly close to an artillery/gunpowder unit but that's only when I want to check out the action up-close. Gaming-wise, however, it's very rare that I zoom in to such an extent as I'm not able to command properly if all I can see on my screen are a couple of units slugging it out. Reduces the lag too.![]()
Ah well, like you say not really a big deal, only happens if you're zoomed in. Just more of an annoyance.
