Default Game crashes on entering combat/reports graphic settings error

So, im certainly not new to game.. just kinda came back to game after long period.. now i have new pc and such..and i never experienced that crash before. now before i start.. i run stainless steel 6.2( 6,1 is official, but 6.2 is beta patch )

i run game on highest settings, normal army size.. i usually have 90-100 fps... drops to as low as 50-55~ in big sieges..
problem is.. sometimes.. when im entering combat, etc i attack army/castle.. and instead of game starts loading combat, my games minimizes to desktop and repots error.. of some graphic error or whatnot.. cant recall exact message.. it says "sometimes it causes by too hight visual settings "blabla.. well thats certainly not the case..

so anyone have/had this problem.. and how could i avoid it..

    Two things, my friend.

This is actually a Stainless Steel forum problem as it is their mod and many error messages are mod specific.

If you get an error like that, drop your settings and try it, again. This game wasn't written for today's highend video cards.

well friend.. one thing im not going to do is lowering my settings.. graphic cards isnt the thing that communicates with game.. drivers are.. and im pretty sure they contain needed data, otherwise half of old games would never work

and its nothing about lack of power to process game.. or visual artifacts.. it just crashes same second i attack.. its not always. but feel like 20% chance for that ;/

    ill try on ss forums
