Crashing!!!

Hi,
Every time I play Medieval 2, about 15 minutes in the game freezes on the campaign map and goes to a black screen, and I have to restart my computer. I have reinstalled it and it still crashes. I have the medieval 2 gold edition, if that makes any difference. It is driving me crazy because I love the game and these crashes are ruining it. Please help!!!

What are computer specs? Have you checked for heat?

I saw on another thread that someone had ATI drivers that were 5 years old, well mine probably are too. Is this the problem? How do I update them and is it free?
