Icon8 Cannot throw a traitor into dungeon

    Hello,

Deeply sorry, I know this kind of thread has already been discussed, but I tried all the solutions I knew and still cannot send one of my rebel generals in dungeon, even if he's alone with King in the capitol.

Does my faction leader need a minimal authority ? (mine is pretty young, around 30, and only 4 of authority, excommunicated)
Do I need more govt points ? (I currently have 0)
Do I have to proceed in a specific order ?

Once more, I'm sorry but I feel hopeless. Seems I've respected all the conditions but it doesn't work.
Please, I beg you, help me to throw those impudent bastards into irons

Yes. If you do not follow the recipe from the very start, it tends to go to hell.

Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

Read the strategy guide for new players :

This recipe can only be done if only one character is sitting in-town with the Leader.

    The Reconciliation.
    • Leader inside capital.
    • One subject inside.
    • Dugjon building.
    • The prision option is a slow prosses. I personally prefer paying 3000f. to raise loyalty. Then wait 1-2 turns inside the capital with the leader. Then A new trait will appear: Reconciliated to king. This will give back more then the orginal loyalty, and is only going to take 3 turns, total.
    Any way.

Think about it. DLV 6.1 is the exact same file for all. But some people don't get it to work. This either got to do with tampring with DLV/Total wat system or some one press the wrong button in-game.
EDIT: there is also the chanse that some players do personal things that can alter the result.

A popup message will tell you the recipe when you have your king in the capital and the rebellious noble in a city with a punishment building (dungeon).

I am "glad" to see I'm not alone in this case.
When I saw the pop-up button (announcing that a rebel nobleman is in capitol with King), I left-clicked on the faction icon, then got the the scroll list, then clicked on the rebel and nothing happened...

Damn... really don't know what to do.

Authority is vital in the first level of civil war.
    - Civil war can now be headed off with quick action (at least there's a chance):If your King is in the capitol, is crowned & and has Authority >5*, there is a % chance each turn that he will lose the trait "Offends the Nobility".

Yeah, that's right, but it's not mentionned in the pdf file if the >5* is a requirement to throw men to dungeon.
It deals here only with methods to prevent a civil war.

What a genuine answer! I would never figure it out! To load the broken game, wow... that's an idea... Wrong button did I press...? Or maybe I was tampering whith DLV?

Or maybe something is not-so-good implemented as it-can-be? I am sorry for that, but I am just curious about some things, as I am new here, as you can see. I don't want to offend anybody, I don't want to deny anyone's hard work. I am not a creator of any mod. But I like DLV, becuse of depth of it's gamplay. And I have read here and there about players' feedback on DLV, so I try to share with experience.

You know, my English isn't that good to allow me a precise expression of thoughts. When I asked about whether the issue can be fixed or not, I didn't meant the short-term method of "loading-saving". It is hard to play with all this pop-ups and not always it is good idea to load a game after few good turns and few more victorious battles. Does your sarcasm bring anything creative? I don't think so. I was curious to know if this process of retirement will be unchanged, or maybe it is going to be resolved in a way that it wouldn't have a chance to be "broken" by such idiots like me, who don't even have an idea of loading the game when they've "broken" it.

If my question bothered you, you shouldn't have aswered, it is simple. Oh, I'm sorry, you have wrote so many posts, and guides, how could I... Pardon...

Sorry, man, but is this going to be this way? Your sarcastic taunt for any stupid newbie-question?

Well if you don't mind cheating, you could simulate the retiring general by the console_command using the tilde key (`). Just use these lines to get your general to retire.

give_trait "(put name of general here)" "Retired" 1
remove_trait "(put name of general here) "Path_General" 1
give_trait "(put name of general here) "Path_Governor" 1
    add_money, -1000

Not saying that this would work, but those are the condition of choosing to retire you general.

Loosen up buddy, DLV is pushing the very boundary of the total war enginge. As a result, every thing can be abit odd. (Just as vanilla once was).
You asked for the solution for you problems, and I answear the only option left. If you feel offended by a comic picture, then... not my problem. If you need an essay, you should mention it.

I do not know your English skills, nor do you know mine. It is going to be a sarcastic taunt because you replay about your feeling, not bacause I answear you question with a humor picture.

    Do not take it personal.

Gentlemen, could we just go back to the initial topic ?

Is there any solution, any trick (even cheating) of any sort to skip the problem and put a disobedient nobleman into dungeon ?
Could you just please describe precisely the path and the method ?

    Thanks a lot.

    @blackleaf

Maybe you're right, but notice, please, that there is a lot of space between an essay and your answer, which truly contains little information about the problem solution and much more information about your reception of my problem. If I didn't need more or less complex information on how not to lose a few good turns, I would load proper savegame. Anyway: thank you.

I need to know if your faction leader still has the trait "Offends the Nobility"? Because in my game it works as intended.

If it helps, I just retired my best old general, the only one to survive that long so far

I think the feature is working, but I keep the rebels low so I've never had to lock up my own generals.

I suppose if you don't mind taking the time to cheat you could always try this.

    Press the tilde key (`) to bring up the command_console and put in these commands;

    give_trait "(insert faction leader's name here)" "Offensive_To_Nobles" 0
give_trait "(insert family member name here0" "Disobedient" 0

After you have done that end your turn. This should reset the counter that govern the script that deals with the dungeon event.

    After you have done that, reenable the traits using the same commands;

    give_trait "(insert faction leader's name here)" "Offensive_To_Nobles" 1
give_trait "(insert family member name here0" "Disobedient" 1

Keep you faction leader inside your capital and your family member with the 'Disobeys His Liege' trait just outside the capital and end your turn. At the beginning of your turn, bring your family member back into the capital and end your turn.

You should get an event that looks like this. You can then proceed to click on the check mark to agree. After you have do so you need to right click on the 'Army' tab and they right click on the family member you want to send to the dungeon. Once you have done that you should get this event pop up asking you what you want to do. If you choose to imprison him (meanie! ), your family member will have the the trait 'Thrown in the Dungeon (you uncaring bastard! ).

Hopefully this will help you or at least you can understand it as I was never good at explaining things. If not, then greater minds than my own will have to figure it out and give their comments.
