Is there any way to get rid of the war counsil? I love most of this mini mod but just hate being the Irish and having most of my best units unavailable for recruitment. So is there anyway to remove this feature form the game?

Reinstall, and don't check BGR when given a choice. You can also opt to leave out RR, permanent arrows and the supply system at this time.
ya but I like alot of it just not the war counsil

What parts of BGR do you like and would like to keep?
what i do mate, is use the console command
give_ancillary this warcouncil1, and for his latest version of the mod, i also give_ancillary this warchest1 to the generals i nominate to remain behind(usually just adoptions or the like) to them so they can keep my recruitment base coming along smoothly, and ill use pureblood family members as armygenerals and have them gain the warcouncil ancillary fair and square.
i imagine to remove warcouncils and the trainingstaff requirements from the mod would require a huge amount of modding so maybe my strategy is your best bet
I think some older versions of BYG's don't have the war council.
The others here have given good answers, but you can also use an optional file available near the bottom of the BGR thread on page 1. It makes WCs easier to gain in BGRIII by using the BGRIV WC system. However, if 3 WCs are not enough for you then this wont help you.
BGRII (supplies) has no WC system
BGR2.5 has WCs, but without any recruitment restrictions.
first take your general out of a city/fort if hes in it, make sure you click on him in the bottom tray, and open up his trait/ancillary page, then push the ` key, next to the 1, and TAB keys.
after that type this exactly as seen
give_ancillary this warcouncil1
8 ancillarys are the limit so you have to remove one if your ancillary column is filled.
not sure what you mean to add more than 2. do you mean to a single general, or to the many generals you have? you are able to create a warcouncil on any general you have.
remove_ancillary this warcouncil1 . or warcouncil2
atm the only problem i can see with this 'cheat' is with bygs latest version, i get a order:warning when my cheated warcouncil generals attack in a foreign soil, but i do note there are two variables of warcouncil to use, warcouncil1 and warcouncil2. im not sure which one is the proper one to use
yeah, same as when you earn them. not sure what limit there is
And what should I do? I don't have any WC members at all. How can that be?
i haven't played with BYG's for a while but I think 3 War council members is the limit. Your King and two generals.
You will always have at least one war council member, your King. He earns the title when he takes the throne. Generals with high enough stats will receive the trait also. I think you have to have at least 4 stars and 4 loyalty but like I said, I haven't used BYG's in a while so that may be wrong. But you should be passing the war council trait down to new generals before your old ones die. If you do that you won't have to worry about the general's stats

I've almost finished an optional file set to grant 3 war council ancillary memberships, with the Leader always being a WC gives 4 WCs.
Will post tomorrow at the bottom of the 1st post in my thread if time allows.
I'm fairly sure it will require a new campaign.
It is for BGRIII only, though any modder could apply it to IV.
I suggest you only use it if you need the game to be easier.

The main thing I dislike about the WC system is how hard it is to get one if your empire becomes too big. I'm France and I'm doing well so I've got abysmal zeal and even though I've been able to keep the ancillary WCs going since I first got them when my zeal wasn't abysmal I don't think I've had a single general appear who would have been able to get one. I like that they have to earn it, I like that when the empire has become too big only the King and Prince are allowed to recruit the best soldiers but it just keeps happening that my King and Prince are terrible commanders so the soldiers are moved to the command of someone else anyways. I wish it was simply a choice whether or not any WC can recruit an army but that a general is just more tempted to turn against you if he's not the leader or heir and has a gargantuan army.
