Wrong disk?

Hiya, Just installed the mod but when i try to launch the game it returns with the error "Please insert the original Medieval Total War Kingdoms Disk into drive"...well im running a vista system with the total war gold disk in the drive and its not responding to this...Ive tried some of the things suggested in the vista problems section, like unchecking read-only after installing each part of the install (which took ages). After eating into 2 hours of my coursework time I've decided to submit this to the forum, seeing as I'm getting nowhere with this one.

**EDIT** The install works off kingdoms patched to 1.5 right?

Wuhey found the problem...I had patched kingdoms to 1.5 instead of from the original shipped version, hope this might help anyone else as well....that was a logn night wasted :p

Still confused, You Did right, you are supposed to patch up your game from 1.0 to the newest patch and then install the game. (Or when did 1.5 appear? Is it a "Fresh" patch released this month? Was a while since I played)

But everything works now?
